The Quang Ninh New Year gathering brought together foreign ambassadors, trade counselors, international organization representatives, business associations, and leading enterprises serving as a platform for fostering dialogues, strengthening diplomatic ties, and exploring collaborative opportunities

During a recent conference ‘Quang Ninh - Convergence and Spread,’ attended by foreign ambassadors, trade counselors, representatives from international organizations, business associations, and prominent domestic companies, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky, Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Quang Ninh province, emphasized the significance of fostering understanding and disseminating Quang Ninh’s core value system to international partners. This initiative aims to create collaborative opportunities, positioning 2024 as a pivotal year in the relationship between Quang Ninh province and embassies, commercial counselors, international organizations, and the business community.

Mr. Ky highlighted Quang Ninh’s focus on building an appealing ecosystem that includes robust incentive and support policies, a conducive living environment, and high-quality public services. These efforts aim to attract and retain talent, develop a skilled workforce, and adapt labor structures to accommodate the growing population. Additionally, Quang Ninh province actively collaborates with neighboring regions to leverage regional advantages, enhance training programs, foster professional development, and generate employment opportunities.

Reflecting on the efficiency of trade promotion initiatives and events in collaboration with Quang Ninh province, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong remarked, “The substantial participation of international delegates and prominent Vietnamese business figures underscores the allure of Quang Ninh province, as well as the VCCI, within the business and international communities in Vietnam.”

In introducing Vietnam’s compelling business and investment landscape, he emphasized the Party and State’s vision for 2024: to elevate Vietnam into a developed, high-income nation on par with leading industrialized Asian countries. With a membership exceeding 200,000 companies, the VCCI serves as an important conduit between the business community, policymakers, and legislators. The VCCI remains steadfast in actively supporting businesses and partner organizations both domestically and internationally, fostering mutual cooperation and shared development goals.

Foreign ambassadors, business associations, and international organizations all hold Quang Ninh province in high regard. It boasts the largest expanse of industrial parks and economic zones in Vietnam, complemented by an exceptional infrastructure system that fuels socioeconomic progress. Notably, its modern, interconnected transportation network ranks among the finest in northern Vietnam. Furthermore, Quang Ninh’s stability, innovation, and sustained double-digit economic growth over nine consecutive years underscore its commitment to transparent governance, continuous administrative reforms, and an improved business and investment environment.

Over the past decade, Quang Ninh has consistently ranked among the top five provinces and cities in terms of economic management quality, as objectively assessed by both organizations and the business community. Notably, its Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) has held the first position for six consecutive years, and remained within the top five for an impressive ten-year span. Recent years have witnessed a surge in investment from major foreign direct investment (FDI) firms, including Jinko Group and Foxconn Group. These developments vividly illustrate that Quang Ninh is increasingly emerging as a favorable destination for people, investors, and businesses alike.

Chairman Cao Tuong Huy of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee emphasizes the province’s development perspective. Quang Ninh aims to effectively leverage its unique potential and advantages, mobilize and allocate resources efficiently, and harness the competitive edge of its dynamically synchronized infrastructure system. This approach is pivotal for achieving rapid, sustainable economic growth and deep integration with regional economies.

Quang Ninh province consistently prioritizes attracting investment, providing seamless facilitation to investors in sectors where it holds outstanding competitive advantages and distinct potential. These sectors include tourism and modern integrated services, processing and manufacturing, supporting industries, high-tech and smart-tech domains, marine economy, logistics, seaports, ecological agriculture, and green economy initiatives such as clean energy, renewable energy, gas power, wind power. Additionally, Quang Ninh is committed to advancing digital government, digital economy, and digital society.

European Union Ambassador to Vietnam, Julien Guerier witnessed the province’s remarkable transformation since his first visit to the province in 1996, he lauded Quang Ninh’s rapid development. Ambassador Guerier reaffirmed his commitment to fostering cooperation between the European Union, Vietnam, and Quang Ninh province. He firmly believed that Quang Ninh’s unique investment advantages will continue to attract EU investors, particularly in sectors prioritized by the province.

Lao Ambassador to Vietnam, Khamphao Eunthavanh, lauded the recent collaborative achievements between Quang Ninh and three Northern Lao provinces. Notably, their joint efforts in supporting Laotian student training exemplify the special bond between Vietnam and Laos. In her role as Lao PDR Ambassador to Vietnam, she pledged to nurture the profound friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations and their localities, including Quang Ninh.

Quang Ninh province, guided by the principle of ‘Accompanying and serving investors and businesses,’ actively engages with ambassadors and enterprises.
