The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) hosted a meeting between heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad in the 2024-2027 term with trade associations and businesses at its head office on March 14. The meeting was attended by leaders of VCCI, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 10 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and more than 100 Vietnamese companies.

On behalf of VCCI, Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh extended a warm welcome to the heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. He underscored the pivotal role of economic diplomacy, particularly in an era of intensifying international integration. VCCI Vice President Vinh further highlighted that these representative agencies are instrumental in facilitating Vietnamese companies’ entry into international markets, bolstering exports, and attracting foreign investment flows.

During the meeting, leaders of industry associations, including the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the Hanoi Young Business Association, the Vietnam Association of Corporate Directors, and Halal Media Company, voiced the challenges and hurdles they encountered. They also proposed potential solutions to these issues. The business associations and enterprises expressed their aspiration for the Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to serve as a conduit between local and international partners. They also expressed their hope that these agencies would actively seek and introduce importers and distributors for Vietnamese branded products in the foreign markets where they operate.

The heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad provided updates on the socio-economic landscapes of the countries and territories where they operate. They specifically highlighted potential collaboration opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises and shared invaluable experiences regarding the synergy between the representative agencies and the business community. Furthermore, they encouraged the business sector to proactively gain market insights by collaborating with VCCI, as well as with Vietnamese representative agencies and trade office systems abroad. This approach would enable them to penetrate markets that are challenging yet hold significant potential.

At the end of the meeting, VCCI Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh expressed his deep appreciation for the comments made by the delegates. He assured the attendees that VCCI, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies, will deploy the most efficacious solutions to support businesses.
