(Chinhphu.vn) - For open-top dump trucks, the loading height is based on the volume of goods transported in the vehicle as stated in the certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection of the vehicle.

Mr. Pham Thang (in Hochiminh City) has a 6x4 hood truck, mounted with 7 tons of 6-segment cranes, carrying 20 feet containers. He would like to ask, what is the maximum height he / she is allowed to carry in his truck? His truck is carrying containers so the crane had to go back to the front of the cabin, so how much is the overall length allowed to be oversized?

Regarding this issue, The Ministry of Transport responds as follows:

According to Clause 2, Article 18 of the Circular 46/2015 / TT-BGTVT, Regarding flatbed truck, goods loaded on the vehicle that exceed the height of the box (as designed by the manufacturer or as approved by a competent authority) must be firmly tied and choked to ensure the safety when running on public roads. The height of loaded goods must not exceed the heights below (from the road surface):

a) If the payload weights 5 tons or more (according to the Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection), the height of loaded goods must not exceed 4.2 meters;

b) If the payload weights from 2.5 tons to less than 5 tons (according to the Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection), the height of loaded goods must not exceed 3.5 meters;

c) If the payload weights less than 2.5 tons (according to the Certificate of technical safety and environmental protection), the height of loaded goods must not exceed 2.8 meters;

 Clause 2, Article 19 of Circular 46/2015 / TT-BGTVT provides, The length of loaded goods on a road motor vehicle must not exceed 1.1 times the total length of the vehicle as designed by the manufacturer or as approved by a competent authority and must not be longer than 20.0 meters.
