Exploring the potential for business cooperation between Vietnam and Ulyanov province (Russia)

Ulyanov province, Russia, always extends a warm welcome to Vietnamese businesses to engage in investment and business activities in the near future.

During the working session with Ms. Tran Thi Lan Anh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. O. Vladimirovich Kabanov, Deputy Chairman of Ulyanov province, Russian Federation, assessed the enormous opportunities for cooperation between the business communities of Ulyanov province and Vietnam.

Specifically, Mr. Kabanov stated that Ulyanov province could excel in high-value sectors such as aircraft manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, logistics, high-tech agriculture, information technology, etc. The Deputy Chairman of Ulyanov province expressed his desire to promote cooperation with Vietnamese businesses in these areas.

According to Mr. Kabanov, Ulyanov province is continuously promoting supportive policies and creating favorable conditions in terms of tax incentives, infrastructure, etc., to welcome foreign businesses, including those from Vietnam, to engage in business activities and investments in the province. Additionally, Ulyanov province offers advanced development zones with attractive tax incentives, simplified administrative procedures, and equipped with ready labor force and infrastructure.

In the near future, through enhancing cooperation with VCCI, Deputy Chairman of Ulyanov province expects that businesses in Ulyanov province will have more opportunities to explore and engage in business activities in Vietnam, and vice versa, Vietnamese businesses will find partners, as well as suitable business sectors in Ulyanov province. Mr. Ulyanov also commits to closely coordinating with VCCI, being a solid bridge to promote cooperation between Ulyanov province and provinces, cities of Vietnam.

Listening to the proposals from Ulyanov province, Secretary General of VCCI Tran Thi Lan Anh believes that 2024, with significant milestones in the bilateral relationship, will be an opportune time to leverage the good traditions and aim for deeper cooperation in the future, which is still modest compared to the potential of both sides.

VCCI has also signed cooperation agreements with the Chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation and Russian trade promotion organizations to further promote cooperation between the business communities of the two countries to achieve strong results in investment, economy, and trade.

The Secretary General of VCCI believes that with strengths in sectors such as aircraft manufacturing, high-tech agriculture, Vietnamese businesses can seek cooperation opportunities to enhance experience and technology in high-value sectors.

The Secretary General of VCCI stated that, to enhance cooperation opportunities between businesses from both sides, the provincial authorities could provide more information about the market and potential in Ulyanov province for VCCI to disseminate to Vietnamese businesses, as well as organize online and offline seminars, discussions for the business communities of both sides to understand specific investment needs in the Vietnamese market and Ulyanov province.

Ms. Lan Anh pledged that VCCI would enhance coordination with the Russian Embassy, provincial authorities, and promotional organizations of Ulyanov province to support the activities of provincial businesses specifically and Russian businesses in Vietnam in general, contributing to establishing a solid foundation for cooperation between Vietnam and Russian localities in the future.
