Speaking at the Conference on Grasping and Implementing Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023, of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of the Vietnamese business community in the new period, on May 10, Mr. Pham Tan Cong - Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) stated that VCCI aims to have around 10 Vietnamese entrepreneurs listed in the world's USD billionaire list, approximately 5 of whom are the most influential in Asia as voted by reputable world organizations.

This goal is based on the implementation action plan of Resolution No. 41. Mr. Cong affirmed that the issued resolution has provided additional motivation and confidence for the business community, the Vietnamese entrepreneurial community to develop, contribute, and face unprecedented opportunities.

Specifically, VCCI's action program focuses on establishing and implementing conventions and rules on behavior and business ethics, forming a system of values and standards regarding ethics and business culture in Vietnam. These are very new but urgent goals and requirements in the new period, as Vietnam aims to become a developed country by 2045. Based on this, it aims to form a leading team of entrepreneurs, leading large enterprises at the national level, capable of doing business internationally, exemplary in ethics and business culture.

Mr. Cong said that the action program will serve as a basis for VCCI to coordinate with ministries, branches, localities, political-social-professional organizations, and business associations nationwide to implement the Resolution. Additionally, VCCI will also coordinate with the Central Economic Committee and relevant agencies to supervise, inspect, and monitor the process of organizing and implementing the Resolution.

Furthermore, to develop a strong team of entrepreneurs in the new period, VCCI will proactively promote and participate in building and implementing the National Entrepreneurship Development Strategy at all levels, with general goals, objectives by 2030, and a vision until 2045.

On the other hand, VCCI will proactively develop and implement high-level training programs in collaboration with international partners, aiming to establish a training base for internationally acclaimed entrepreneurs specializing in nurturing and training senior leaders for enterprises.

"VCCI is connecting with international organizations to receive support in building and implementing this program. The goal for the next 5 years is to train and nurture at least 500 senior leaders of large enterprises and 5,000 emerging business leaders," Mr. Cong said.

In particular, VCCI will support entrepreneurs and businesses to directly participate in international organizations, forums, and cooperation mechanisms, thereby enhancing their position to ensure the interests of the Vietnamese business community on the international stage.

Domestically, Mr. Cong mentioned that VCCI is building and operating an investment connection platform to support investment promotion activities in provinces and cities, such as attracting green investments, connecting investors with provinces, providing consultancy and management, while also enhancing the provision of information, technical advice, and expertise to improve the quality of local economies.

To develop regional linkages, Mr. Cong emphasized the need to establish regional business councils. Regarding the target beneficiaries, VCCI's action program will focus on supporting entrepreneurs from large enterprises to small and medium-sized enterprises, female entrepreneurs, and startup communities.
