The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Vingroup signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation in promoting green transformation and sustainable development. Mr. Pham Tan Cong - Chairman of VCCI attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Vice Chairman of VCCI emphasized: the comprehensive cooperation between VCCI and Vingroup is an important milestone, demonstrating the strategic vision and consensus of the Vietnamese business community in the journey of building a green, sustainable and environmentally responsible economy, contributing significantly to the implementation of sustainable development goals of the country and the international community.

According to Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh, the concept of synchronous system transformation has become a familiar concept, emphasized by many business executives around the world recently. It is time for the business community to no longer be satisfied with the traditional business model but to change.

"Over the past decade, at the Vietnam Sustainable Business Forum, the success of a business has been redefined. That success is not simply about finance and profit, but also about how businesses create values ​​for society, people and the environment. Businesses need to fully account for three sources of capital: financial capital, social capital and natural capital in production and business activities," Mr. Vinh emphasized.

Green transformation is part of that process. No single business can solve it alone, but requires coordination and connection together. With that meaning, the companionship of Vingroup - a pioneer in implementing social responsibility and having great influence - along with the coordinating role of VCCI contributes to realizing common goals, bringing practical benefits to the economy and the Vietnamese business community, including many businesses in the global value chain.

“I hope that this event will be the beginning of a series of initiatives and effective cooperation activities between VCCI and Vingroup. Not only stopping at the field of green transformation but also opening up better opportunities, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena” - Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh expressed.

According to the signed Memorandum of Understanding, from a macro perspective, the two sides will cooperate to implement programs to contribute opinions on policies, laws, and build a Vietnamese business culture towards green transformation. VCCI and Vingroup will implement specific projects to promote green transformation and green business practices in the business community such as enhancing the internal capacity for sustainable business development (Corporate Sustainability Index - CSI), building a green business environment (Provincial Green Index - PGI) and other related programs.

In addition, the two sides will promote sustainable business models, natural business models, and circular economic models in which new values ​​are created. At the same time, they will respond to and strongly promote the movement of Vietnamese people prioritizing the use of Vietnamese goods in a green and sustainable direction. VCCI member businesses are supported to use environmentally friendly products and services, prioritizing green solutions from Vietnamese brands such as VinFast and other services of Vingroup.

The two sides also implemented propaganda programs, mobilizing businesses and people to contribute to raising public awareness, implementing practical actions towards the goal of Net Zero by 2050; jointly researching and cooperating to promote green businesses to participate in the global value chain, develop sustainably and expand international markets.

At the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of Vingroup and President of Vinfast Global Company expressed her appreciation for the green vision of VCCI - an organization that has always played a leading role in promoting Vietnamese business culture towards sustainable development. Under the direction of VCCI, the member business community has been making strong changes, contributing to the goal of environmental protection and socio-economic development.
