VCCI and TCC promote Vietnam - Thailand business cooperation in the new context

The demand for connectivity in many fields between the Vietnamese and Thai business communities is currently at a high level.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the meeting with typical Vietnamese - Thai businesses.

On the occasion of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife and high-ranking delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand and attend the Economic Leaders' Meeting, Economic Cooperation Forum For the 29th Asia-Pacific (APEC) event, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has coordinated with the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) to organize a series of important business-related activities. 

Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong spoke at the Meeting with Typical Vietnam - Thailand Enterprises.

Notably, the Meeting with Typical Vietnam - Thailand Enterprises has received the attention of a large number of businesses with the participation of more than 350 businesses including large enterprises, as well as large enterprises. micro, small and medium of the two countries. In particular, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and delivered an important speech to the Thai and Vietnamese business communities at this program.

At this important event, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc highly appreciated the cooperation between VCCI and TCC, and reaffirmed that Thailand and Vietnam are strategic partners of each other, and always accompany and support each other to overcome difficulties for better development, both bilaterally and within regional and international frameworks. “The two countries need to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in areas of mutual potential and benefits such as digital economy, energy security, food security, green and sustainable growth”. Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized.

 

At the event, VCCI met and signed a number of important cooperation agreements.

Speaking at the event, Thai Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith expressed his delight at the results of cooperation between the two countries, especially cooperation orientations during the official visit of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Thailand. He emphasized that the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry signed a cooperation agreement with the Thai Trade Commission with many provisions to support businesses to promote cooperation and investment. Along with that, the banks of the two sides launched a cross-border QR code payment service between Thailand and Vietnam, thereby hoping to promote consumption, tourism and trade between the two countries and encourage the use of QR codes. use the local currency of each country.

In addition, the Vietnam Chamber of Commercial and Industry also met and signed a number of important cooperation agreements such as the Cooperation Agreement with the Thai Trade Commission under the witness of the President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.

The agreement includes provisions to build projects and programs to support businesses of the two sides in the process of business and investment. The two sides pledged to support each other to organize activities to promote trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand to become more active and substantive.

 

In addition to the main activities, VCCI and TCC arranged a reasonable time for businesses of the two sides to have the opportunity to meet and discuss the possibility of business cooperation in the near future.

Also, at the Meeting with Typical Vietnam - Thailand Enterprises, the delegates attending the event witnessed the signing of an MOU between the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) of Chonburi province and the Union Invest Global - Invest Global. The MOU includes contents of cooperation between the two sides in implementing trade and investment promotion activities such as: promoting the exchange of information on policies, supporting cooperation between businesses, encouraging companies of the 2 countries to attend business-related events, and create conditions to connect businesses and expand business networks.

Another notable event was the launching ceremony of the cross-border QR Code Payment service between Thailand and Vietnam which took place with the witness of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Energy of Thailand - Sattanapong Punmeechaow.

With the expectation of promoting consumption, tourism and trade between the two countries and encouraging the use of each country's local currency, this cross-border QR Code payment service aims to bring people, tourists, a two-party seller for a safe, convenient and cost-effective payment method.

In addition to the main activities, VCCI and TCC arranged a reasonable time for businesses of the two sides to have the opportunity to meet and discuss the possibility of business cooperation in the near future. Enterprises of both sides have actively exchanged and expanded new fields of cooperation, including energy; High technology; Renewable technology; Environment; Finance - Banking... instead of the traditional fields between the two parties.
