A series of photos by Doan Vuong Quoc captures the scenic landscapes and bucolic lifestyles of the central province of Quang Ngai.

Vast expanses of gold and green rice fields in Duc Phong Commune, Mo Duc District, during the summer-autumn harvest season.

Mo Duc is Quang Ngai's largest 'rice basket' with around 10,000 hectares of rice fields.

Of Quang Ngai's 14 districts and towns, Son Ha and Son Tay districts are said to have the most beautiful terraced fields.

Most H're here are subsistence farmers, mainly growing rice.

Farmers burn straw in paddy fields after the harvest for use as fertilizers.

Farmers in Quang Ngai also use straw as substrate to grow mushrooms.

The locality is also the hometown of late PM Pham Van Dong, who served as the premier of North Vietnam 1955-1976 and, following the country's unification, as PM of Vietnam 1976-1987.

Tra Bong is a famous river in Quang Ngai Province. It is the topic of the well-known poem "Nho con song que huong" (Missing the village river) by Te Hanh, which is included in the country's secondary school textbook.

The 200-meter-long bridge is dismantled by locals during the flood season and rebuilt afterward.

Photographer Doan Vuong Quoc said: "The pastoral landscapes next to the bamboo bridge are as beautiful as a water-color painting and attract lots of photographers. Many young people wanting to escape the bustle of city life often come here to breathe in the fresh air and experience the quiet and peace of the countryside."
