Specifically, during the working session between Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Pham Tan Cong and Mr. Hannes Hanso, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia to Vietnam, the two sides had specific discussions to promote business cooperation between the two sides, especially in the fields of technology and digital transformation.

Ambassador Hannes Hanso shared: “Estonia is known to the world as a digital country, where 99% of public services are provided online to citizens and the government has been paperless for over 15 years.

Estonia's digitalization journey began in the early 1990s when the country made a strategic choice to prioritize digital innovation to ensure sustainable growth. Estonian ICT companies have made a significant contribution to the country’s transformation, building modern online services that enable 99% of public services to be accessed online and are now providing services across continents.

In addition, the Estonian Ambassador added that Estonian ICT companies have expertise spanning across many key areas, including cybersecurity, AI solutions in healthcare and customer service, and IoT applications in smart city planning and agriculture.

Currently, with the rapid and stable development of the economy and Vietnam’s current efforts in developing digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, fintech, medical technology, education technology and e-government, there are wide cooperation opportunities for businesses from both countries.

The Estonian Ambassador to Vietnam hopes that through close cooperation with VCCI, Estonian businesses will be connected with partners in Vietnam, as well as learn more information about market needs, contributing to accelerating the digital transformation process in Vietnam in the future.

Expressing his impression of Estonia's development in the field of digital transformation, VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong said that Vietnam is continuing its journey of digital development and moving towards digitalization goals, and opportunities are opening up for Estonian businesses to invest in Vietnam.

Currently, Vietnam has a great advantage with an abundant labor supply and a quality workforce. The Government is also prioritizing attracting global businesses to invest in Vietnam in high-value fields such as technology, semiconductors, ICT, etc. Combined with a favorable geographical location in the center of Southeast Asia, the most dynamically developing region in the world, the VCCI Chairman believes that Estonian businesses will have many advantages when promoting investment in Vietnam.

In particular, with Estonia's experience in building world-class digital infrastructure and Vietnam's increasingly strong technological development, this mission will open the door to future-oriented cooperation activities that can promote digital transformation in many industries.

At the same time, through cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises, Estonian enterprises can penetrate deeper into the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market.

In the coming time, the Chairman of VCCI proposed that the Estonian Embassy in Vietnam and VCCI will further strengthen cooperation and information sharing so that businesses of the two countries can better understand the market potential, as well as share mutual understanding of the two countries, thereby expanding investment opportunities, developing together and bringing benefits to the country.

The Chairman of VCCI committed that VCCI will be a solid and reliable bridge for Estonian enterprises. At the same time, with a network of branches spread across provinces and cities and a diverse membership system in many fields, VCCI will provide the best support for Estonian businesses when they come to operate and invest in Vietnam.
