There is still much room to further promote the cooperation potential of the Vietnamese - Australian business community.

VCCI Secretary General Tran Thi Lan Anh works with Mr. Sam Conroy, Chairman of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Auscham)

During the working session with the Secretary General of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Tran Thi Lan Anh, Mr. Sam Conroy, Chairman of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (Auscham) said that the two countries' upgrading of diplomatic relations to the highest level has contributed to promoting bilateral trade and investment cooperation, as well as creating favorable conditions for Australian businesses to do business in Vietnam and vice versa.

The Chairman of Auscham added that Australian and Vietnamese businesses are increasingly connected, especially in the manufacturing sector. Currently, Australian manufacturers are expanding their operations from China to Vietnam with high technology and quality.

This is promoted by active exchanges between the two governments, as well as many delegations exploring business opportunities for Australian businesses in Vietnam. In addition, this change also shows the trend of Australian businesses improving their approach to Vietnam.

Mr. Sam Conroy also emphasized that the potential and opportunities for cooperation between Vietnamese and Australian businesses are still very large after the two countries upgraded their relations, especially in areas such as high technology, robotics, automation, education, etc.

Although there are still many challenges in the supply chain, the Chairman of Auscham expects the investment potential of Australian businesses in new areas in Vietnam to explode in the coming time, as businesses are increasing their production activities of complex, high-value products in Vietnam.

On the other hand, the Chairman of Auscham added that more and more Australian businesses are expanding their operations in provinces and cities other than Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, he hopes that VCCI will create favorable conditions to support businesses when they come to explore business opportunities in provinces and cities in Vietnam.

VCCI Secretary General welcomes and works with representatives of the Australian Business Association in Vietnam

VCCI Secretary General Tran Thi Lan Anh highly appreciated Auscham's contributions in promoting Australian businesses in Vietnam, as well as deepening the relationship between the business communities of the two countries.

Currently, Australia ranks only 20th out of 143 countries with FDI in Vietnam. Therefore, in the coming time, the VCCI Secretary General encourages Australian businesses to increase their investment and business in Vietnam.

Sharing the same view with the Chairman of Auscham, the Secretary General of VCCI said that there is still great potential in the fields of infrastructure, logistics, high technology, innovation, green energy, renewable energy, finance, banking, healthcare, high-quality human resource training, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, etc.

The Secretary General of VCCI also suggested that VCCI and AusCham continue to cooperate closely within the VBF mechanism, as well as strengthen cooperation in organizing training courses, sharing experiences, and improving management capacity for member businesses.
