The Vice Chairman of VCCI commented that currently, the demand and potential for cooperation between Vietnam and China is very large, especially in areas where the two sides share many benefits and are important in the economic development strategies of the two sides.

Vice Chairman Hoang Quang Phong emphasized that there is still a lot of potential to exploit and further strengthen trade and investment exchanges between Vietnam and Chinese localities, including Jilin Province, a province with strong development in the fields of agriculture, pharmaceuticals and a number of other industries.

To enhance cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, the Vice Chairman of VCCI suggested that the two sides should continue to promote dialogue and information sharing to create more cooperation opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises and Jilin province.

In addition, the VCCI Vice Chairman called on corporations and enterprises in Jilin Province to actively participate in the Vietnamese market, implementing high-quality investment projects in areas that Vietnam is very interested in such as: finance, investment, technology, innovation, human resource development, infrastructure construction, green development, etc., as well as increasing the import of goods with strengths from Vietnam.

Previously, VCCI and CCPIT of Jilin Province and the Department of Commerce of Jilin Province signed a cooperation agreement, but the VCCI Vice Chairman said that cooperation activities between the two sides were still limited. Therefore, the two sides need to increase regular support and information exchange to further promote cooperation between VCCI and Jilin Province, thereby supporting businesses of both sides to cooperate and develop together.

Specifically, Jilin has strengths in industries such as automobile manufacturing, petrochemicals, medical equipment, food processing, of which the automobile industry has an output of 1.55 million vehicles in 2023, ranking 8th out of 31 provinces and cities in China.

Jilin is also a large province in food production, accounting for 4% of cultivated land and producing 10% of China's total food products, with major agricultural products such as corn, soybeans, rice, etc. Jilin's large enterprises all have experience and strengths in applying high technology to green and clean agricultural production.
