Promoting regional linkage has always been one of the top priorities in Vietnam’s socio-economic development over the years. This is a key topic emphasized in the Documents of the 13th National Party Congress, as well as in the 2021–2025 Medium-Term Development Plan and the 2021–2030 Socio-Economic Development Strategy. Regional linkage plays a decisive role in shaping regional planning and fostering cooperation in economic development — creating momentum for regional and national growth. It represents both an essential need and an inevitable requirement for collaboration and international integration amid globalization.

   In recent years, the Government and central ministries have issued directions and guidance to accelerate and implement regional linkage initiatives across multiple sectors, especially in socio-economic development. A series of documents — from the approval of regional socio-economic development plans to the establishment of coordination mechanisms and regional steering committees — have strengthened inter-regional cooperation, creating significant momentum for economic growth.

   Regional linkage is a management and development goal consistently emphasized by the National Assembly and the Government. The regional offices and branches of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) are structured based on key economic regions, with the mission to promote enterprise development tailored to each regional economy.

   VCCI currently has nine branches and representative offices across Vietnam’s key economic regions, all actively strengthening regional connectivity and cooperation with local authorities in business support activities.
