The International Relations Department (QHQT), formerly the International Transaction Office, was established in 1963 with the birth of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (now the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - VCCI). The history of the formation and development of the QHQT Department is always closely linked to the development history of VCCI.

Over the past 60 years, during its operation, the International Relations Department has actively contributed to the overall success of VCCI. The Department's activities have always been highly appreciated by the business community and international trade and investment promotion organizations, not only contributing to increasing trade turnover between Vietnam and foreign partners but also enhancing the position and prestige of VCCI with partners and the business community.
Up to now, the International Relations Committee has consulted for VCCI to sign more than 170 cooperation agreements with nearly 100 national and international organizations; built a database with nearly 100 foreign markets. From 2004 to present, the Business Forums and Business Councils between Vietnam and other countries, especially strategic and key partner countries, have been maintained, improved and developed by the Committee. This model is considered effective in supporting the business community in finding partners and accessing markets.
In addition, every year, the Board also coordinates with relevant ministries, branches, agencies, embassies, trade offices of Vietnam and other countries as well as international trade and investment promotion organizations to welcome hundreds of businessmen to survey the market and seek business opportunities, including many delegations accompanying heads of state.
