Trade and investment promotion activities have focused on key strategic markets and partners of Vietnam such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, and Russia. Through external affairs activities, VCCI has provided enterprises and international organizations with information on the Party’s and the State’s policies and guidelines regarding an investment and business environment based on the principles of equality and respect for Vietnam’s laws. VCCI has also connected Vietnamese enterprises with foreign counterparts to promote exports, strengthen investment cooperation, and serve as a bridge for Vietnamese and international businesses to meet, exchange, and find suitable partners. By listening to the needs of international partners, VCCI has contributed practical recommendations to help improve Vietnam’s investment and business environment.

To support businesses in operation and international integration, VCCI has proactively established cooperative relations with trade and investment promotion organizations of other countries. To date, VCCI has built partnerships with 185 associations, federations, promotion agencies, councils, and chambers of commerce from 66 countries through cooperation agreements, memoranda of understanding, and bilateral business councils. VCCI regularly maintains and strengthens relations with embassies and consulates general, foreign trade promotion agencies, and Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad to realize signed cooperation agreements, expand cooperation, exchange information, organize practical activities aligned with business needs, and support enterprises in promoting investment amid Vietnam’s deepening integration into the global market.
Organizing trade and investment promotion activities through business forums and business councils has been an important direction of VCCI. In recent years, Vietnam Business Forums with key markets such as the United States, Japan, Africa, the Middle East, China, and the EU, as well as bilateral business councils such as Vietnam–Russia, Vietnam–Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam–South Africa, have significantly contributed to strengthening and expanding cooperation between the Vietnamese and international business communities. These forums and councils also serve as effective dialogue channels between enterprises and government agencies, helping provide input for the formulation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation mechanisms between Vietnam and other countries.
VCCI has proactively developed and implemented several key trade and investment promotion programs and projects assigned by the Government, such as the Trade and Investment Promotion Project with strategic partners and key markets under Government Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP; and SME support projects aimed at enhancing competitiveness, including “Enhancing Working Skills, Entrepreneurship for Youth and SME Connection (Youth Spark)” and “Supporting Women-Owned SMEs in Business Management Innovation to Maximize Resources for Competitiveness and Integration.”
Trade and investment promotion and networking activities have been regularly conducted by VCCI in various forms, with diverse content and scale. In 2023, the number of incoming delegations increased 3.8 times compared to the same period in the previous year, while the number of outgoing delegations rose by 10%. Throughout 2023, VCCI organized 07 exhibitions and 256 conferences and seminars on trade and investment promotion both domestically and internationally, with the participation of over 48,000 enterprises. VCCI received 152 incoming delegations and sent 22 business delegations abroad for market surveys.
