In 1984, two years after the establishment of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP), the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) was authorized by the Government to establish the Patent and Trademark Bureau (P&TB), serving as the sole representative for registering and protecting industrial property matters related to foreign entities in Vietnam. Until the late 1980s, VCCI-IP remained the only industrial property agency in the country.

   Renamed VCCI-IP Co., Ltd. in February 2007, the organization has continuously developed over nearly 30 years, affirming its position as one of the largest and most reputable intellectual property agencies in Vietnam.
