Business culture is a factor that promotes the comprehensive development of the business system, from expertise to mindset and organizational methods. It helps strengthen technical facilities and discipline, building an advanced, modern working environment based on traditional cultural values for all employees. A well-developed business culture helps entrepreneurs and enterprises gain competitive advantages through innovation and the ability to adapt quickly to domestic and international business environments.
Resolution No. 41-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new era sets the task of building a business culture that reflects national identity and embraces the essence of global business culture. Recognizing and leveraging national cultural strengths while integrating global values into the identity of Vietnamese enterprises is a turning point in shaping the future of Vietnam’s business community.
VCCI has identified this as a key and breakthrough task in the 2021–2026 term. In 2023, the Enterprise Development Foundation (EDF), in cooperation with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, conducted and released the first quantitative study on business culture in Vietnam: “Vietnamese Business Culture from the Perception of Stakeholders – Implications for Enhancing Competitiveness and Sustainable Development.” Since 2024, VCCI has officially implemented the project “Promoting the Development of Vietnamese Business Culture for the 2021–2026 Period,” contributing to the goal of turning Vietnam into a developed nation by 2045. Additionally, to foster entrepreneurial ethics and modern Vietnamese business culture, on May 19, 2022, marking the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, VCCI launched the “Code of Business Ethics for Vietnamese Entrepreneurs.”
VCCI has also collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to organize national forums and scientific conferences on business culture and entrepreneurial ethics. In the coming period, VCCI will continue to promote the building and practice of business ethics and business culture in line with the requirements of a developed, civilized, and modern nation.
