Last year saw Vietnam's export turnover to Israel reach roughly US$700 million and imports hit estimated US$850 million, according to the Vietnam Trade Office in the Middle East nation.

Notably, Vietnam's export value in November last year increased by 27.2% to US$ 51.04 million, compared to the previous month.

This indicated a slight fall in comparison to a figure of US$ 774 million recorded last year. This is said to be a positive result in the context that the Israeli market suffered fluctuations, disturbances and difficulties amid political instability and negative impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Turnover of most key export items posted sharp increases during the month, including coffee up 108.6%, footwear (35%), phones and accessories (31%), and textiles and garments (21.4%) cashew nuts (16.9%), and seafood products (3.3%).

With a population of only 9.3 million, Israel is the third largest export market of Vietnam in the Middle East, behind the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Turkey.
