At a reception in Hanoi on June 25 for the Power and Energy Sub-Working Group led by VBF Co-Chair Virginia Foote, Binh assured willingness to listen to VBF’s suggestions on policymaking in energy development as well as Vietnam’s strategic priority for sustainable energy development.

He pledged to provide all possible support to multinational corporations and the private sector at home and abroad to participate in Vietnam’s clean energy market. 

The sub-working group and VBF’s discussion results and recommendations will provide important reference for the Vietnamese Party and Government leaders to decide on national energy strategies and policies. 

 For her part, Foote briefed her host on the implementation of the VBF’s recommendations since its conference in late 2018 and touched upon its new suggestions. 

Both sides also discussed the purchase of clean energy in countries and the purchase and production of clean energy in Vietnam.

The VBF offered recommendations on policies and legal frameworks to remove obstacles and develop the market for clean and renewable energy in Vietnam, including wind, solar and biomass energy. 

It also proposed energy saving solutions and ways to push for the private sector’s involvement in the area.
