On August 26, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) had a working session with the delegation of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, said VCCI has taken the lead in attracting foreign investments and in developing international trade relations.

Mr. Le Hoai Trung also said that the Commission for External Relations has recently been assigned a new political task on the people's foreign affairs, which is related to the VCCI. This meeting was designed to remove obstacles in terms of mechanisms and procedures and to support both sides.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that in the past time, VCCI has actively developed good cooperative relations with other international organizations, and strengthened trade-investment promotion activities to support businesses. VCCI has also been the official channel for the business community to contribute to the development of integration policies.

Currently, VCCI has established cooperative relationships with more than 120 chambers of commerce and trade promotion organizations around the world. VCCI has actively participated in trade negotiation delegations, in bilateral and multilateral committees on economic cooperation, and in international economic organizations such as WTO, APEC, ASEAN, CACCI, GMS, ACMECS, and PECC, aiming to support Vietnamese enterprises to integrate into the international economy.

Mr. Pham Tan Cong affirmed that VCCI's people-to-people diplomacy has always followed the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on people-to-people diplomacy, especially Directive 12-CT/TW, dated January 5, 2022 of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on strengthening the leadership of the Party, improving the effectiveness of people's diplomacy in the new situation.

VCCI hoped that the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations and other competent agencies would remove obstacles in foreign affairs and support the business community in trade and investment promotion.
