The collaboration between VCCI and ILO has contributed to ensuring compliance with labor laws, enhancing skill development, and promoting sector-level dialogue and business engagement.

VCCI Vice Chairman Hoang Quang Phong worked alongside Ms. Karen Curtis and the expert team from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.

The Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Hoang Quang Phong, held a working session with the expert team from the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, led by specialist Karen Curtis.

According to the VCCI Vice Chairman, the strategic partnership and technical support relationship with ILO not only helps VCCI have a stronger voice within the tripartite mechanism but also contributes to creating conditions for VCCI to better represent Vietnam's employers internationally.

In recent times, VCCI has continued to participate in several programs to establish a framework for Vietnamese businesses to strive for international standards and norms, ultimately leading to better employment opportunities for the workforce. These are critical components in building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations within enterprises.

The VCCI Vice Chairman assessed that the cooperative programs with ILO have been highly effective, enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese businesses both domestically and within the global supply chain. Simultaneously, these efforts play an important role in advocating for policies that promote sustainable employment programs and help Vietnamese businesses gain a better understanding of and adhere to international labor relations laws.

In the near future, Mr. Phong proposed that ILO continues to collaborate by sharing information and experiences, supporting VCCI in the ongoing improvement and transformation of the labor force to seize new employment opportunities, enhance social dialogue and collective bargaining, and organize seminars, forums, and training sessions on various labor-related issues to improve labor capacity within businesses.

Listening to the recommendations of the VCCI Vice Chairman, Ms. Karen Curtis evaluated that VCCI has always been one of the key partners in the tripartite partnership to ensure the right to full, productive, and freely chosen employment.

In addition, ILO also highly appreciates VCCI's active participation and contribution to the development and implementation of policies and regulations related to employment and labor, especially in promoting social dialogue and harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations at the enterprise level and getting closer to international labor standards.

Through collaboration in policy-oriented labor and employment activities, organizing specialized workshops, VCCI and ILO have worked to build the capacity of employers and their businesses, enhance social dialogue and collective bargaining at the enterprise, sectoral, and national levels.

Ms. Karen Curtis emphasized that in challenging and turbulent circumstances, ILO is always ready to listen to VCCI's recommendations and support VCCI in areas related to employment and labor, strengthen dialogue, and work with the business sector to aim for improving labor productivity and promoting sustainable business development.
