To acknowledge the positive contributions in the development and publication of the PGI and PCI indexes, on June 11, the Chairman of VCCI awarded a Certificate of Merit to Mr. Trevor Hublin, representative of USAID in Vietnam.

On behalf of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Chairman Pham Tan Cong expressed sincere thanks to Mr. Trevor Hublin, Deputy Director of the Office of Education, Economic Growth, and Governance (E2G2) at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam, for his contributions in promoting the cooperation and support activities of USAID in Vietnam. These efforts aim to improve the provincial business environment within the framework of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) Project and the Provincial Green Index (PGI) Initiative Project.

Chairman Pham Tan Cong awarded a Certificate of Merit to Mr. Trevor Hublin, Deputy Director of the Office of Education, Economic Growth, and Governance (E2G2) at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Vietnam.

"These contributions have, are, and will continue to strengthen and develop the good relationship between VCCI and USAID in Vietnam specifically, and build a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in general," Chairman Pham Tan Cong emphasized.

According to Chairman Pham Tan Cong, over its 20 years of development, the PCI Index and more recently, the PGI Index, would not have achieved their current success without the effective support of Mr. Trevor Hublin in his role as Deputy Director of the E2G2 Office, the project management unit.

Findings from the PCI and PGI Indexes have helped provincial and city governments develop appropriate action plans to continuously improve the quality of economic governance towards sustainable growth, thereby creating favorable conditions for the business community to develop and recover. The PCI Index has been institutionalized in a series of Government Resolutions 02/NQ-CP from 2019 to 2022, which focus on key tasks and solutions to improve the business environment and enhance national competitiveness.

"Particularly, the Prime Minister has directed ministries, sectors, and localities to study the 2023 PCI and PGI Reports as per Official Dispatch No. 3442/VPCP-KSTT dated May 20, 2024," Chairman Pham Tan Cong shared.

He also expressed hope that, in the future, Mr. Trevor Hublin will continue to promote cooperation between VCCI and USAID to strengthen and realize the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States in the coming time.

It is known that the Certificate of Merit awarded to Mr. Trevor Hublin by the Chairman of VCCI is a form of foreign commendation (awarded to individuals and groups of foreigners who have contributed to the development of VCCI). Mr. Trevor Hublin has made positive contributions to the development and publication of the Provincial Green Index (PGI) and the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI).
