The Cai Mep - Thi Vai deep-water port cluster meets the fundamental requirements for establishing a gateway port and an international transhipment hub capable of handling vessels with a load capacity of 200,000 tons. It ranks among the port groups with the most rapid global growth, creating a favourable environment for developing hinterland logistics facilities that cater to the pivotal economic zone in the southern region. This optimization of cargo transportation enhances competitiveness in international trade.

Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal: Potential Port-centric Logistics Center in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai Region
As the inaugural deep-water port in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai region of Viet Nam, capable of hosting vessels up to 160,000 DWT, Tan Cang - Cai Mep Container Terminal (TCCT) is designed with the aim of broadening collaborative partnerships, elevating service standards, and ensuring efficient business endeavours. TCCT is strategically transitioning into a hinterland logistics center, harnessing its capabilities and strengths to fortify enduring strategic alliances with key partners, including:
● Between 2020-2021: Collaborating with Ba Son Corporation in the operation and acceptance of project cargo and vessels transporting wind power equipment.
● In March 2022, a partnership was established with KCTC Viet Nam to operate Terminal B - Tan Cang Cai Mep, spanning an area of 6.8 hectares. This terminal is dedicated to handling long-standing imported container cargo, containers loaded and unloaded temporarily from ships, and providing services such as empty container services, cargo stuffing and unstuffing, customs inspection, and more. This expansion aims to increase yard capacity, share and mitigate port congestion risks, ensure efficient vessel release, and deliver top-quality services to our customers.
Beyond container cargo vessel operations, TCCT strongly asserts its remarkable capabilities and extensive expertise in the execution and provision of comprehensive logistics services for oversized and overweight projects, particularly large-scale wind power initiatives, catering to energy projects in the critical southern region. Furthermore, TCCT stands as a prominent port of call for various international cruise ships, successfully welcoming three international cruise ship arrivals in 2023, including the prestigious Spectrum of the Seas, ranked among the world's top 10 luxury cruise ships.
Amidst the growing trend of deep-water ports in the Thi Vai - Cai Mep region attracting more direct service routes connecting the United States and Europe, TCCT strategically leverages its superior advantages and pursues sustainable cooperation and joint venture strategies. The goal is to evolve into a pivotal hinterland logistics center in the southern region of Ho Chi Minh City, swiftly responding to the needs of customers and shipping lines and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
