VOV.VN - The northwestern province of Son La hosted a conference in the northern border province of Lang Son on June 18 to boost its agricultural exports to China.

At the signing ceremony.

Since 2018, Son La has exported roughly 10,000 tonnes of mango, longan and banana, and 30,000 tonnes of cassava flour to the Chinese market.

The locality reportedly raked in US$80 million from agricultural exports via Lang Son province’s border gates, primarily mango and banana.

Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Vice Chairman of the Son La provincial People’s Committee, said the province is now home to some 60,000 hectares of fruits with an output of about 260,000 tonnes.

“We continue to seek importers for local farm produce, especially those from China. And this year’s event is expected to foster linkages between Son La producers and distributors with Chinese partners,” Khanh added.

Son La looks to step up agricultural restructuring with a focus on developing high-tech farming materials zones and more cooperatives dedicated to the cultivation, processing, and distribution of farm produce.

The province aims to reap some US$150 million from agricultural exports.

Leaders of the two provinces inked a Memorandum of Understanding on accelerating Son La’s agricultural exports via Lang Son’s border gates. The event also witnessed the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between enterprises of the two localities and their Chinese firms.
