Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy Joint Stock Company (HANVET) is the leading company in Vietnam specializing in researching and producing veterinary medicines with 10 production lines meeting the GMP-WHO standard.
HANVET brand has been confirmed at home and abroad. HANVET's products have been exported to more than 20 countries including: Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Uganda, Netherlands. with millions of dollars in sales
Meanwhile, Thai veterinary drugs that have been registered and circulated in Vietnam up to current are 218 products of 26 companies. When HANVET and some other veterinary drug companies in Vietnam have the same level of education, even be superior to Thai companies, but can not register their products in Thailand.
We have had an opportunity to visit veterinary drug factories in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Phillipines, Myanmar and found that compared to the veterinary drug manufacturers in the ASEAN region, perhaps HANVET lies in Top 10 most qualified businesses. Not only HANVET but other veterinary drug companies such as VEMEDIM, Bio-Pharmachemie, Navetco .... also have not been registered any products in Thailand.
For example, HANCEFT - a suspension of injectable antibiotics from HANVET has been successfully registered in developed markets such as Korea, Malaysia and Iraq. However, registration in Thailand is extremely difficult. We have submitted this product registration form to the Thai FDA management agency since 2015. After 2 years, we have received the dossier and the FDA time to respond to the application is 1 year. This is one of the barriers that make it difficult and slow down the registration process.
As we studied, we were informed that the Thai FDA veterinary drug registration offices had representatives from Thai veterinary drug manufacturers. And when the products that these companies are researching production is very difficult for foreign companies to register. In the past, Thai manufacturing companies did not have similar products. Currently, BIC Chemical Co., Ltd. of Thailand has produced a similar product called CEFVET.
While there are many low-quality veterinary drugs from Thai companies that have low levels of scale, equipment and technical expertise, but they are available in Vietnam.
We would like to propose that if countries make difficulties for Vietnamese products, then we must take the same response.
