Mr. Cao Tuong Huy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province delivered a speech at the 7th session of the VCCI Executive Board, 7th term.

Mr. Cao Tuong Huy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province emphasized at the 7th session of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Executive Board, 7th term, held on March 8th in Quang Ninh.

According to Mr. Huy, in the past period, Quảng Ninh province and VCCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperation in implementing improvements to the investment and business environment, enhancing competitiveness, supporting enterprises during the 2022 - 2025 period, and effectively organizing Resolution No. 02 annually issued by the Government and Resolution No. 05 dated April 9, 2021, of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on promoting administrative reform, improving the investment and business environment, enhancing provincial competitiveness, and contributing to the economic and social development in the province.

Also according to Mr. Huy, in 2023, Quang Ninh province maintained stability, unity, consensus, reform spirit, and economic development momentum with continuous two-digit growth for 9 consecutive years (2015 - 2023). The GRDP in 2023 is estimated to increase by 11.03%, double the national average, ranking first among provinces and cities in the Red River Delta region, and third nationwide; the scale of the economy is estimated to reach over 315,800 trillion VND, 1.5 times higher than in 2020; state budget revenue is estimated to reach over 55,600 trillion VND, leading the country; breakthroughs were made in attracting investment reaching 5.1 billion USD, of which foreign direct investment is estimated at 3.1 billion USD, 3.1 times the annual plan, ranking first nationwide.

Furthermore, in the past period, Quảng Ninh province has continued to make breakthroughs in administrative reform quality, balanced regional development, improving people's living standards and quality of life; creating significant transformations in cultural and social development, human development, ensuring social security and welfare, and achieving many goals for the period 2020 - 2025. Accordingly, the per capita GRDP in 2023 is estimated to reach over 9,500 USD, 1.4 times higher than in 2020; generating over 21,000 additional jobs. The appearance of Quảng Ninh is increasingly rich, beautiful, civilized, and modern. National defense and security are maintained; foreign affairs are strengthened and deepened. Quảng Ninh continues to maintain its position as a growth pole in the Northern region.

"To achieve these significant results, in the recent period, Quảng Ninh province has received the attention, close coordination, active and effective cooperation of VCCI, especially in effectively coordinating the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperation in improving the investment and business environment, enhancing competitiveness, supporting enterprises during the 2022 - 2025 period between the People's Committee of Quảng Ninh province and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry," emphasized Mr. Huy.

To realize the development objectives for the period 2020 - 2025; aiming to achieve the development goals for 2030 and 2045 as set forth by the Party and the State, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quảng Ninh province hopes that VCCI will continue to maintain and enhance cooperation, unanimity, and responsible engagement in implementing cooperative activities with Quảng Ninh province. Specifically, both sides need to continue implementing the tasks and solutions agreed upon in the Cooperation Program between the People's Committee of Quảng Ninh province and VCCI on January 20, 2022.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quảng Ninh province also hopes that VCCI will continue to support and consult to help Quảng Ninh province implement sustainable solutions to improve the PCI index, achieve the goal of maintaining its position among the leading provinces and cities as stated in the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress of Quảng Ninh province, term 2020 - 2025, and Decision No. 80/QĐ-TTg dated February 11, 2023, of the Prime Minister approving the Provincial Development Plan of Quảng Ninh province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. At the same time, continue to support Quảng Ninh province in investment promotion activities, attracting reputable investors, and maintaining its leading role in attracting investments to Quảng Ninh province.

"Quảng Ninh province is committed to making strong and sustainable efforts to improve the business investment environment, enhance competitiveness, and build and develop the provincial business community according to Resolution 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023, of the Politburo on building and developing the Vietnamese business community in the new period. At the same time, always proactive and ready to create all necessary conditions for business support activities; improving the business investment environment, and enhancing the PCI index in 2024 and the following years," emphasized Mr. Huy.
