VOV.VN - Mai Phuong Thuy, the winner of Miss Vietnam 2006, is set to serve on the judging panel for the Miss World Vietnam 2019 pageant which is scheduled to take place during June in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Phuong Thuy won the Miss Vietnam crown in 2006 at just 18-years-old. She went on to represent Vietnam at the Miss World 2006 pageant and finished among the Top 17.

The 31-year-old beauty queen has previous experience judging beauty contests as she was on the panel for the Miss Universe Vietnam pageant during the 2015 and 2017 versions of the event.

In her role as judge at the pageant she will be alongside Ha Kieu Anh, Miss Vietnam 1992, and Le Xuan Son, editor-in-chief of Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper.

Do My Linh, Miss Vietnam 2016, and Tieu Vy, Miss Vietnam 2018, are to be ambassadors for the beauty contest.

They will accompany all of the contestants during the pageant’s activities. 

The preliminary round is scheduled to take place on June 1 in Ho Chi Minh city and June 28 in Hanoi. The semi-final will get underway in the southern region on June 22 and in the northern region on July 7.

The grand finale will be held in the central city of Danang on August 3.
