Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyễn Quang Vinh Speaks at the Meeting between Vietnamese and Guangxi Enterprises (China)

According to Ms. Yang Yanyan, Secretary General of CABIS and President of CCPIT Guangxi Province, Vietnam has consistently been the largest trade partner of Guangxi province. After the two countries relaxed their pandemic prevention measures, economic and trade cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam will become increasingly close, trade volume will be further expanded, and better cooperation opportunities will be created for businesses on both sides.

Currently, Guangxi enterprises are prioritizing cooperation in the fields of electronic information, optoelectronics, new energy vehicles, new materials, advanced equipment manufacturing, digital economy, green economy, and technological innovation. At the same time, with the new and preferential policies attracting foreign investment, Ms. Yang noted that this will be an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to expand their business cooperation in Guangxi.

To deepen the cooperation, Ms. Yang expressed her desire for VCCI to organize delegations of Vietnamese businesses to strengthen market surveys and explore cooperation opportunities in Guangxi. She also extended an invitation to the Vice Chairman of VCCI and businesses to attend the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) 2024.

According to Nanning Customs, in 2023, the import-export turnover between Guangxi and Vietnam reached 253.95 billion RMB (approximately 36.3 billion USD), an increase of 29.2%. Of this, Guangxi's exports were 191.59 billion RMB (approximately 27.4 billion USD), up 23.1%, while Guangxi's imports from Vietnam were 62.36 billion RMB (approximately 8.9 billion USD), up 52.5%.

Agreeing with this perspective, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyễn Quang Vinh also noted that in recent years, under the direct guidance and direction of senior leaders of both Vietnam and China, especially following the visit of General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng to China and the visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Vietnam, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China has continued to be consolidated and strengthened. This has contributed to promoting cooperative relations between the business communities of the two countries.

Vice Chairman Vinh evaluated that with its geographical advantages, Guangxi province has significant potential and room for economic and trade cooperation with Vietnamese localities and businesses in areas where both sides have strengths. This facilitates the promotion of exporting Vietnam's strong products to the Chinese market and, conversely, helps Guangxi's products deeply penetrate the ASEAN market through Vietnam.

Based on the close cooperation between the two sides, the Vice Chairman of VCCI affirmed that VCCI is ready to exchange information and collaborate with CCPIT Guangxi to promote trade relations between the business communities of the two sides in fields such as industry, clean technology, high technology, agriculture, and tourism.

Additionally, Vice Chairman of VCCI shared that VCCI is in the process of establishing a representative office in Lao Cai province. Vice Chairman Nguyễn Quang Vinh hopes that this will enhance cooperation between Guangxi province and several northwestern provinces of Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman also extended an invitation to the President of CCPIT Guangxi to attend the upcoming ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN BIS) in Vientiane, Laos. As Chairman of the ASEAN BAC Vietnam Council, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Quang Vinh emphasized that VCCI/ASEAN BAC Vietnam is always ready to support and cooperate with Guangxi province in particular and China in general to promote strong cooperation between Chinese and ASEAN businesses in the future.
