NA Chairwoman receives Armenian and Japanese guests

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on November 5 for Vice President of the Armenian National Assembly Vahe Enfiajyan and a delegation from Japan’s Gunma prefecture, led by its Governor Ichita Yamamoto.

Talking to the NA Vice President of Armenia, Ngan praised the time-honoured friendship between Vietnam and Armenia and voiced her hope the two nations will continue working hand in hand in organisations to which they both are members.

 

The Vietnamese NA is boosting promoting parliamentary diplomacy with nations, including traditional friends like Armenia, she said while suggesting
the two legislative bodies should provide conditions for their agencies to exchange experience in law building, and intensify exchange visits to fully tap new potential for stronger cooperation in the future.

Chairwoman Ngan asked the Armenian official to convey her invitation to visit Vietnam to President of the Armenian NA.

Vahe Enfiajyan who is also Chairman of the Armenia-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, told his host that the group will do their utmost to step up the cooperation between the two countries, particularly in politics and economics.

He emphasized that the Armenian NA stays ready to work with the Vietnamese counterpart to elevate their partnership to a higher level and proposed that the Vietnamese NA set up a parliamentary friendship group with Armenia soon.

He conveyed to NA Chairwoman Ngan an invitation to visit Armenia from the President of the Armenian legislature.

Receiving Japan's Gunma prefecture Governor Ichita Yamamoto the same day, the Vietnamese NA leader congratulated the Japanese people on entering the Reiwa era of Emperor Naruhito and Yamamoto on his new role as the Governor of Gunma prefecture, and praised the establishment of the Gunma-Vietnam friendship parliamentarians group.

Gunma and Vietnamese localities are enjoying sound relationship, she said, adding that there are around 4,000 Vietnamese workers and students in the Japanese prefecture.

For his part, the Gunma prefecture Governor, applauded the contributions made by the Vietnamese people in Gunma, which has helped further boost cooperative ties between Vietnam and Gunma, as well as spur socio-economic development in the host locality.

The administration of Gunma prefecture pledges to offer optimal conditions for Vietnamese apprentices, he said, stressing that the move is part of the Memoranda of Understanding signed between Gunma and the Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Ngan was appreciative of Gunma enterprises who are operating or seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam, whilst hoping that Yamamoto and the Gunma authorities will facilitate their firms’ operations in the Southeast Asian nation.

Gunma prefecture will arrange a visit to Vietnam for a larger-scale business delegation to study investment and cooperation opportunities in the country, the Japanese official said and pledged his sustained efforts to bolster cooperative relations between Gunma and Vietnamese localities as well as between Japan and Vietnam.

He also offered his deepest condolences to Vietnam and its people over the lorry tragedy in the UK concerning Vietnamese citizens.
