In his speech at the conference, Chairman Pham Tan Cong stated that the past year of 2023 had been extremely challenging for businesses and VCCI. Despite such difficulties, throughout the past year, the entire VCCI system has made concerted efforts to overcome challenges, united as one, and successfully fulfilled the mission of supporting the business community. The work plan for 2023 was essentially completed, achieving and surpassing targets in some aspects, with revenue exceeding the planned target by approximately 4%, and experiencing a 6% growth compared to 2022. Additionally, they effectively carried out some unexpected tasks assigned by the Party and the State beyond the annual plan.

Not only did VCCI complete and exceed its planned targets, but it also introduced many new activities and innovative approaches. Alongside traditional activities such as enhancing the quality of legal and policy-building activities, promoting business environment facilitation, announcing sustainable businesses, organizing economic forums by Enterprise Forum Magazine, international cooperation programs, international trade promotion, business training, issuing Certificates of Origin, in 2023, VCCI also laid the groundwork for activities in the following years.

Specifically, VCCI excellently fulfilled the most important task of VCCI in the 2023 Work Plan, which was to summarize Resolution 09-NQ/TW of the XI Central Executive Committee on building and promoting the role of the Vietnamese business community, providing recommendations for drafting a new resolution to replace Resolution 09. Accordingly, VCCI proactively and actively coordinated with the Central Economic Committee, leading the implementation of many important contents within the framework of the 10-year summary project of implementing Resolution 09-NQ/TW, drafting a new resolution, and submitting it to the Central Executive Committee.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, on behalf of the Politburo, signed and issued Resolution No. 41/NQ-TW on October 10, 2023, regarding the construction and promotion of the role of the Vietnamese business community in the new period. Among the set of tasks, Resolution 41 outlines the enhancement of the role of VCCI and representative organizations of the business community. It emphasizes the continued consolidation, improvement of organization, innovation of content and methods, enhancement of the quality and efficiency of VCCI's activities, and the effective implementation of its function and mission as a socio-political and professional organization representing the legitimate rights and interests of entrepreneurs and businesses. Additionally, it focuses on developing members and strengthening organizations, serving as a solid bridge between the Party and entrepreneurs, contributing to the nation-building and safeguarding endeavor.

VCCI organized an event aimed at laying the groundwork for enterprise communication activities, namely the Signing Ceremony of the Cooperation Program between VCCI and the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Vietnam Journalists Association. This event was implemented simultaneously with the organization of the "Media and Business Forum for Vietnam's Prosperity and Happiness" by the Economic Information Center (BIZIC), Enterprise Forum Magazine, and related units.

In addition to the aforementioned foundational activities, according to Chairman Pham Tan Cong, in 2023, VCCI also engaged in many significant activities that resonated in society. These included the successful organization of the 60th anniversary celebration of VCCI's establishment, which enhanced VCCI's credibility and impressive image in the eyes of international friends and the business community. This event established VCCI's position and image within the nationwide business community.

VCCI also collaborated with the Vietnam Musicians' Association to successfully organize a competition for composing businessman-themed songs and announced the traditional song of the Vietnamese business community on Vietnam Entrepreneur Day, October 13, 2023. This initiative was warmly received by the business community, timely boosting the spirit of entrepreneurs and businesses to overcome difficult periods. It was also an important activity to effectively implement the Project "Promoting the Construction of Vietnam's Business Culture for the 2021-2026 Period" and to strengthen connections and linkages among business communities in regions. Additionally, alongside the Mekong Delta Business Council, VCCI organized the inauguration ceremony of the High-speed Eastern Axis Small Regional Business Council.

Overview of the 7th Executive Committee Meeting of VCCI, 7th term

With the existing foundations and motivations, Chairman of VCCI, Pham Tan Cong, regards 2024 as a pivotal year in implementing the resolutions of the 7th Congress. Alongside traditional programs, in the upcoming year, VCCI will continue to implement many key activities with new aspects, including:
