The event, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA), focused on achieving double-digit economic growth.
Nguyen Van Duoc stressed that the city’s 2025 GRDP growth target of at least 10% is ambitious, requiring collaboration from businesses and experts. Their insights will help shape policies and remove obstacles.
To drive growth, the city will accelerate public investment, focusing on infrastructure with the principle of “where roads go, prosperity follows.” Key projects such as Can Gio International Transshipment Port, a Digital Transformation Centre, and an International Financial Hub will be fast-tracked. Thu Duc City has planned for a Multi-Purpose High-Tech Centre, including AI, innovation, and big data hubs.
Experts at the event highlighted the need to address challenges facing private enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized businesses. They suggested bold policies, including tax breaks, simplified registration, digitalisation support, and improved credit access.
Expanding trade promotion efforts, strengthening international connections, and integrating private businesses into global supply chains were also emphasised.
Nguyen Van Duoc also reaffirmed the city’s commitment: “The success of businesses is the city’s success, and their challenges are ours to resolve.”
