Health ministry reports 425 new COVID-19 cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed two imported cases of COVID-19 and 423 local infections on Friday morning, raising the national caseload to 24,810.

The number of daily new COVID-19 cases from June 25 to July 9

The imported cases included one Vietnamese repatriated from France on June 19 and the other returned home via land border gate in the southern province of An Giang on June 30.

The domestic infections are residents in HCMC (350), Long An (37), Dong Nai (15), Phu Yen (six), An Giang (five), Khanh Hoa (four), Bac Ninh (three), Vinh Phuc (one), Gia Lai (one), and Bac Lieu (one). Of these, 377 cases were detected at quarantine camps or lockdown areas.

Among the national patient tally, 22,910 are locally-transmitted cases, including 21,340 documented in 57 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence began.

Twelve out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam, and Lao Cai.  

As of 4:00pm on July 8, nearly 4 million vaccine doses were administered. About 249,532 people have been fully vaccinated./.
