Hanoi Medical University Hospital and GE HealthCare signed an MoU for the education sector on December 18, marking the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at transforming healthcare education and fostering cutting-edge scientific research in Vietnam.
The ceremony, set against the backdrop of the prestigious Hanoi Medical University Hospital, included notable attendees such as Steve Green, commercial counsellor from the US Embassy, Nguyen Lan Hieu, general manager of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, and Pham Hong Son, CEO of GE HealthCare Vietnam, underscoring the international significance of the collaboration. The attendees each articulated their vision for the collaboration and its potential impact on the healthcare landscape.
This partnership will see GE HealthCare providing basic and advanced product and application training, as well as clinical education programmes to support Hanoi Medical University Hospital’s core care areas. One of the main achievements of this cooperation will be the implementation of training courses in diagnostic imaging and ultrasound in 2024 for radiologists and radiographers, with theoretical lectures and clinical case sharing by the leading professors and doctors of Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Along with that, GE HealthCare will continue to support Hanoi Medical University Hospital in implementing seminars and conferences in fields such as diagnostic imaging, interventional radiology, and intensive care.
The scope of collaboration extends beyond education, encompassing scientific research initiatives. Hanoi Medical University Hospital will play a pivotal role in generating clinical evidence for GE HealthCare’s newly developed medical technologies and AI applications. Additionally, its medical advisory board will provide valuable insights and feedback, contributing to GE HealthCare’s ongoing research and development programmes.
The collaboration is expected to foster a culture of continuous learning, research, and the adoption of state-of-the-art medical technologies to improve healthcare services and the quality of life for people in Vietnam.
