Receiving the Lao diplomat, the host leader said he hopes that the ambassador will fulfill his tasks in Vietnam and act as a bridge helping to develop the great friendship, special solidarity and all-around cooperation between the two nations.

He highlighted the relationship as an invaluable asset shared by Vietnamese and Lao people, and asked the ambassador to make greater contributions to bilateral ties.

The Lao Ambassador pledged his best efforts to foster the comprehensive cooperation and work together with Vietnamese competent agencies to carry out high-level agreements reached leaders over the past time.

Laos always supports and effectively cooperates with Vietnam at regional and international forums, the ambassador said, voicing his hope that Vietnam will well undertake its role as ASEAN Chair 2020 and non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2020-2021.

PM Phuc said Vietnam and Laos are working together on many projects covering various fields and urged Sengphet Houngboungnuang to boost coordination with Vietnamese competent agencies to improve the quality of these projects.

He proposed that both sides intensify all-level delegation and people-to-people exchanges, especially between youths while saying that the Vietnamese Party, Government, agencies and localities always take heed to cooperation with Lao localities, ministries and agencies.

He called on relevant agencies of the two countries to accelerate the implementation of joint projects and propel bilateral trade forwards.

The Vietnamese government leader asked the Ambassador to work with competent agencies to well prepare for  meetings of the Inter-governmental Committee and other major programmes.

He said he believes both sides will improve the cooperative efficiency at regional, sub-regional and international forums, and share viewpoints on regional issues.

Phuc also urged Laos to help Vietnam successfully assume the posts as ASEAN Chair 2020 and non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2020-2021.

Meeting with the Saitama prefecture Governor, the Vietnamese cabinet leader expressed his confidence that the visit by the Japanese official will make more contributions to fostering the friendship and cooperation between Saitama and Vietnam.

He applauded the sound relations and strengthened political trust between Vietnam and Japan, saying the cooperation between their localities plays a crucial role in boosting the bilateral ties.

PM Phuc said he wishes that Ono will contribute to augmenting cooperation between Saitama and Vietnamese localities as well as between Vietnam and Japan.

He hopes that Japan will take the top spot in FDI and trade exchange in Vietnam, with Saitama taking the lead in this process.

For his part, the Japanese guest thanked PM Phuc for his recent attendance at the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, which, he said helps further boost the close ties and the extensive strategic partnership between the two nations.

Saitama attributes great importance to expanding relations with Vietnam, and is willing to offer favourable conditions for Vietnamese people living, studying and working in the prefecture, he told his host.

The Japanese delegation has worked with Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment representatives on supporting Vietnamese firms in seeking cooperation and business opportunities in Saitama, he added.
