That was the statement of Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam - Deputy Director of VCCI HCM at the B2B Exchange between Vietnamese and Polish enterprises, within the framework of the "Taste of Europe" Program.
Delegates and businesses of the two countries attended the B2B Exchange
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam - Deputy Director of VCCI HCM said that Vietnam and Poland have a long-standing relationship, we are moving towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland (1950 - 2025). The activities are aimed at further promoting trade and investment relations to further tighten the traditional relationship between Poland and Vietnam.
Regarding two-way trade between Vietnam and Poland, according to Mr. Nam, in 2023, two-way trade between Vietnam and Poland will reach 2.8 billion USD. The trade surplus is in favor of Vietnam. Regarding investment, Poland is currently one of 146 countries investing in Vietnam and ranks 35th among countries investing in Vietnam.
“The presence of Polish and Vietnamese businesses at today’s event will be an opportunity for businesses from both sides to learn about each other’s needs, as well as explore business opportunities to establish trade and investment relations between businesses from both countries. At the same time, it aims to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries,” said Mr. Nguyen Huu Nam.

At the same time, he also affirmed that this is also an opportunity for Polish food and F&B businesses to further promote Polish products into Vietnam to balance the trade balance between the two countries and this is also the long-term goal of the two countries in the coming time.
Speaking at the previous press conference, Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz - Chief Representative of the Polish Trade and Investment Agency in Vietnam assessed that Vietnam has participated in many free trade agreements, so the investment and trade environment is increasingly integrated deeply with the global economy, especially import and export activities.
Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz believes that these trade agreements will not only gradually remove most import and export duties between the two sides, but also simplify the licensing process and other obstacles. Regulations on the process of determining the origin of goods will also be synchronized.
“By cooperating with Vietnamese companies, Polish businesses will have access to the markets of two major trade agreements that will change the form of trade in the European region in the coming years. Thanks to these agreements, trade relations between countries located in the European region will be improved,” Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz shared.
He also said that the signing of the EVFTA Free Trade Agreement in 2020 is an important matter. Vietnam is one of the very few countries participating in the integration process of the European economy in both blocs, and also has a free trade agreement with the European Union.

According to Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz, the trade value between Poland and Vietnam in 2023 reached over 5 billion EUR, of which the majority were Vietnamese goods exported to the Polish market, nearly 4.6 billion EUR, down 2% compared to 2022. In 2023, Poland exported products with a total value of 540 million EUR to the Vietnamese market, up 16% compared to 2022.
Trade between Poland and Vietnam mainly involves products in the food sector. In 2022, the total value of agricultural and food products that Poland exported to the Vietnamese market reached 176 million EUR, up 16% compared to the previous year. In 2023, the total value of meat and animal products will be almost 142 million euros, an increase of 43% compared to 2022 when the total value of these products reached 99 million euros.
“The recent trade agreements that Vietnam has signed create many opportunities to increase investment activities from Poland. The most imported products are rice, corn, garlic, eggs and fish products. Enterprises should pay attention to the market of dairy products and processed foods, because import duties on these product groups will gradually be reduced to zero within 5-7 years from the time the trade agreement comes into operation,” noted Mr. Piotr Harasimowicz.
According to Ms. Bozena Wroblewska - President of the Promotion Center, Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry, many Polish products are currently present in Vietnam, but Poland wants to bring a more diverse range of products to the Vietnamese market and the promotion program "Europe full of flavor - tradition and quality" is one of the key activities.
Polish food products in particular and European food products in general always ensure compliance with international quality and high production standards. Typically, Poland is one of the leading fruit suppliers in Europe, playing an important role in many markets outside Europe thanks to ensuring high quality, meeting global standards, competitive prices....
In addition, the network of fruit and vegetable farms in Europe managed by young farmers is using a variety of modern technologies and specialized equipment, so the quality of production is increasingly improved.
The "Taste of Europe" program promotes European food products. The project aims to promote beef and pork (fresh, chilled and frozen) as well as apples and their products. Activities are aimed at consumers, distributors, importers and the media in Japan, Vietnam and Singapore.
The promotion focuses on organizing effective meetings and information sessions to highlight the unique features of European food, emphasizing the special taste, high quality, production safety standards, favorable climatic and farming conditions, and advanced farming methods in accordance with animal welfare principles. Food production in the European Union complies with international quality and production standards such as HACCP, GMP, GHP, GAP, ISO, ensuring quality and safety.
