Chairman of VCCI Pham Tan Cong and Mr. Nobuhiro Yoshida, Chairman of the Asia Business Cooperation Committee, Kansai Economic Federation, and Executive Director of Sumitomo Corporation

During the meeting with Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Nobuhiro Yoshida, Chairman of the Asia Business Cooperation Committee, Kansai Economic Federation, and Executive Director of Sumitomo Corporation, noted that with VCCI's role in facilitating connections, an increasing number of Japanese enterprises have successfully invested in Vietnam.

Notably, Kansai is located in the central region of Japan and consists of 10 provinces, including the three major cities of Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe. Kansai is Japan's second-largest economic, financial, and technological hub, with strengths in manufacturing and production industries.

Mr. Yoshida further mentioned that Kansai is also a center for small and medium-sized enterprises focused on high-tech manufacturing. Significantly, there is a growing number of enterprises from Kansai seeking to expand and explore investment opportunities in new sectors abroad, particularly in Vietnam.

Therefore, recognizing the existing potential, Mr. Yoshida expressed his desire for the two sides to collaborate in the near future to research and develop a cooperative program that would create a suitable platform to enhance connections between Kansai and Vietnamese enterprises.

Additionally, the Chairman of the Asia Business Cooperation Committee expressed his hope to welcome the VCCI Chairman and a delegation of Vietnamese businesses to attend the Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, which will have the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."

VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong highly values the cooperative relationship between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, especially in the context of the two countries upgrading their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World."

To enhance the effectiveness of cooperation in the future, the VCCI Chairman suggested that both sides select several exemplary enterprises to build success stories from Vietnamese and Japanese businesses, thereby inspiring and spreading influence within the business communities of both countries.

Additionally, organizing seminars, short-term training programs combined with partner connections would allow enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises from both countries, to understand each other's business cultures, interact, and learn management practices from Kansai enterprises.

In the future, VCCI leaders hope that more enterprises from the Kansai region, especially small and medium-sized companies, will come to invest and do business in Vietnam. Similarly, they hope many Vietnamese enterprises can establish investment and business relationships in the Kansai region and maximize the potential and strengths of Kansai enterprises through cooperation.
