At the reception, Minh urged the two sides continuously carry out cooperation mechanisms, especially the joint cabinet meeting, the Vietnam-Thailand Joint Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, and political consultations between the two foreign ministries.

He voiced his support for a number of projects and events that will be hosted by the Thai Embassy in the time ahead, especially a project to build a hospital for poor people in central Nghe An province, and the Thailand Festival in Vietnam.

Ambassador Tanee Sangrat showed his elation at the fruitful tourism cooperation and strengthened people-to-people exchange between the two countries in recent times.

In the first five months of 2019, Vietnam received 216,000 tourists from Thailand, nearly 50% higher than that of the same period last year.

Thailand is now the 8th largest foreign investor in Vietnam and its investment in Vietnam is expected to see further increase in the time to come with some projects from SCG, Thaibev and Amata.
