Mr. Pham Tan Cong is the Chairman and President of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council for Administrative Procedures Reform, Vice Chairman of the National Council on Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Enhancement.
Mr. Cong has a 28-year successful career in leading and supporting the business community in Viet Nam. In 1993, as the founder, he initiated the Vietnam Youth Business Club (later named the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Association) and led the national young entrepreneurs movement for 16 years, contributing to the booming of the business community and the rapid growth of Viet Nam economy. In 2002, he co-founded the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and led it for 14 consecutive years, contributing to the miracle 30-times increase in the revenue of the software industry in Viet Nam in that period of time. From July 2015 till September 2021 he held the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee on State-owned Corporations, supervising the key issues of the biggest corporations and banks owned by the Government in Viet Nam.
In recognition of his contribution to the nation, the President of Viet Nam awarded him twice with the Second and the Third Class Labor Medal.
Mr. Pham Tan Cong holds bachelor degrees of 3 universities: Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia), Hanoi Foreign Trade University, Hanoi Foreign Language Pedagogic Institute, and a Master degree in economics.
