Celebrating 132 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and launching the implementation of the Code of Business Ethics in Vietnam

At the ceremony to celebrate the 132nd birthday of President Ho Chi Minh and launch the implementation of the Vietnam Code of Business Ethics, the Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry Pham Tan Cong mentioned the letter to the business world in the early days of independence, in which President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: entrepreneurs are part of the great national unity and the National Union of Industry and Trade - an organization of businessmen is a member of the Viet Minh Front, actively participating in the patriotic emulation and resistance movement for national construction.

According to the Chairman of VCCI, since the introduction of the Law on Private Enterprises and the Law on Companies in 1990, the contingent of Vietnamese entrepreneurs and businesses has made a remarkable development, making great contributions to economic development and improvement people's lives.

Currently, our country has more than 850,000 businesses and more than 5.4 million business households, corresponding to the number of entrepreneurs up to millions of people. From 1991 to 2021, Vietnam's GDP increased from 9.6 billion USD to 363 billion USD; GDP per capita increased from 188 USD to 3680 USD, an increase of nearly 20 times.

"Vietnamese entrepreneurs are confident and have the right to be proud of their contributions to the cause of building an increasingly prosperous Vietnam," emphasized Chairman Pham Tan Cong.

In addition, the Party and State always pay attention to the development of the business team, the document of the 13th Party Congress clearly states the requirement: "Develop a strong business team in quantity and quality, with spirit of dedication to the nation, with progressive cultural and ethical standards and good management and business qualifications" and set the goal of turning our country into a developed, high-income country by 2045. 

Understanding the national development goals set forth by the XIII Party Congress, the Resolution of the VII Congress of the VCCI identified three strategic breakthroughs, including the "Pioneer in building Vietnam's business culture, shaping the Vietnamese business culture and shaping the future of business culture in Vietnam. establish and promote the implementation of common conventions and standards on business ethics, entrepreneurial culture, and enterprise”.

Over the past time, VCCI has researched and developed Vietnamese business ethics rules, with the participation of senior consultants, scientific research units and business representatives. businesses, as well as consult many international and domestic documents and models, through many conferences and meetings, and consulted a number of Party and State leaders at the VCCI Executive Committee Meeting for the third time, the VII congress has officially approved the Vietnam Code of Business Ethics.

Specifically, 6 articles of the Vietnamese business ethics code include: Creating economic value for society; Compliance with the law; Transparency, fairness, integrity; Creativity, cooperation, mutual development; Respect for nature, protect the environment; Patriotic, responsible to society and family.

According to the Chairman of VCCI, on the occasion of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, a shining example and exemplary model of morality and style, VCCI organized the announcement of the Code of Ethics for Entrepreneurs of Vietnam, which demonstrates the determination of the community. co-businessmen studying and following President Ho Chi Minh.

This is a practical activity of Vietnamese businessmen responding to the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality and style" as well as an important initial step to implement the Resolution of the 7th VCCI National Congress.

The Chairman of VCCI also suggested that all members, business associations jointly organize the implementation of the Code of Ethics by consensus, and act together to create new and sustainable values that are ethics and the business culture of Vietnam.
