In the past two days from September 9-10, 2022, VCCI Da Nang, the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD-VCCI) cooperated with the World Wide Fund for Nature in Viet Nam (WWF-Vietnam) successfully organized the training course "Business planning towards sustainable green growth".

Attending the training course were representatives of 10 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the fields of timber, agro-forestry and non-timber forest products. The purpose of the training program is to provide guidance and strengthen the capacity of SMEs to make business plans towards sustainable business in a more effective and attractive way, thereby improving the ability of financial institutions and commercial banks to recognize the business plan of the enterprise.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mr. Ho Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of VCCI Da Nang shared “The implementation and application of green consumption and green shopping policies in Vietnam to encourage sustainable production and consumption. Sustainability is an urgent need today. Changing to a green production and consumption model is an activity that ensures long-term, sustainable development and is an inevitable trend of the future. To move towards a model of green production and sustainable consumption, it requires efforts from manufacturers and suppliers as well as changes in shopping habits from consumers.

Mr. Ho Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of VCCI Da Nang Da Nang emphasized the role of businesses in moving towards a green economy.

Enterprises participating in the training shared the difficulties in planning production and business strategies in the direction of green growth due to the lack of resources and limited human resources in planning capacity. Therefore, the training contents have provided businesses with a lot of practical and useful information and knowledge.

The training program includes three topics, on guiding the formulation of investment projects, production and business plans; basic knowledge of green economy; and introduce the bank's loan products, as well as discuss and evaluate investment ideas prepared by businesses.

Trainees receive certificates of completion

After the training course, most of the participating enterprises have drafted a medium and long-term 'Investment Project Profile' or an annual 'Production and Business Plan' based on their business reality.

Based on the assessment report and recommendations from the training consultant, WWF-Vietnam will study the appropriate way to continue supporting business units in need, completing new investment projects or expanding production and business as practiced in the last training course.
