Business culture and entrepreneurial ethics are important factors that contribute to enterprise development, fostering responsibility to the community, and building trust and support from customers.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh, Director of Lingzhi Mushroom Co., Ltd., shared this at the forum “Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology and Business Culture” on the afternoon of May 14.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh, President Ho Chi Minh is a shining example for all generations. We learn from him about skillful leadership, intelligent national development strategies, vision, ethics, demeanor, and a compassionate, benevolent heart for the people and the country.

“But how do we correctly build and apply entrepreneurial ethics and business culture according to President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology to promote enterprise development?” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh posed this question.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh assessed that current businesses have many opportunities for development and international integration. However, they also face numerous challenges that require enterprises and entrepreneurs to overcome difficulties, develop their businesses while maintaining the nation’s cultural foundation, integrating without losing their identity.

“In this context, business culture and entrepreneurial ethics are crucial factors that contribute to enterprise development, fostering responsibility to the community, and building trust and support from customers,” emphasized Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh.

President Ho Chi Minh emphasized that entrepreneurs must improve their cultural, scientific, technical, and professional knowledge and cultivate a scientific working style. Business culture involves creating a healthy cultural working environment, promoting and practicing democracy.

Respecting labor and caring for workers’ lives, having a culture of behavior within the enterprise and with partners and customers, being honest without producing counterfeit or substandard goods, and creating products that benefit and promote the health of the community are the core premises that form a strong and sustainable enterprise.

“Business culture today, according to President Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology, emphasizes building entrepreneurial ethics, as well as the culture and ethics of the leadership. In an enterprise, leaders with ethics serve as role models and can lead the enterprise to develop,” expressed Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Chinh.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thị An, President of the Hanoi Women Intellectuals Association, it is essential to understand President Ho Chi Minh's perspective on culture. According to him: “Culture is the sum of all modes of living and their manifestations that mankind has created to adapt to the demands of life and the requirements of survival.”

In a letter (dated October 13, 1945) to the industrial and commercial sectors, President Ho Chi Minh said: “While other sectors of the nation are striving to achieve complete independence for our country, the industrial and commercial sectors must work to build a solid and prosperous economic and financial foundation.”

Culture is the superstructure, influenced by the economic base. Business culture during the subsidized economy differs from business under a market mechanism. However, since our country’s economy operates under a socialist-oriented market mechanism, our business culture has unique characteristics, distinct from the business cultures of countries with purely market mechanisms.

“This greatly influences the perspectives and business methods of each individual entrepreneur and the formation of the entrepreneurial team as a whole,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thị An.

In this spirit, in recent years, while building a team of intellectuals and entrepreneurs, the Hanoi Women Intellectuals Association has focused on several key points:

First, understanding “business culture” correctly within a socialist-oriented market mechanism. Business should prioritize efficiency and profit, but these should not be the sole focus, ignoring other factors such as the working environment for staff and employees, consumer interests (social factors), especially those who are disadvantaged. It is essential to avoid engaging in unethical business sectors and projects.

Second, organizing scientific research aimed at practical application, always improving the quality of research outcomes and products, and supporting each other for mutual advancement.

Third, emphasizing credibility in business, avoiding opportunistic practices, and not leveraging scientific or personal reputation to promote substandard products, especially those harmful to public health.
