On the afternoon of April 25th, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of VCCI, received Mr. Dominik Meichle, Chairman of EuroCham in Vietnam for the 2024-2025 term.

Mr. Dominik Meichle, Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), and Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)

During the working session with Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Mr. Dominik Meichle, Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), emphasized that close cooperation between the two sides not only benefits businesses but also contributes to the common interests of the country.

In addition, Mr. Meichle also expressed the desire to promote a long-term and solid cooperation between EuroCham and VCCI.

In Mr. Dominik's view, one of the top priorities for both sides in 2024 is to jointly promote the development and construction of a green economy. 2020 marked EuroCham's first step in bringing leading European technologies to cooperate with companies in Vietnam.

The Chairman of EuroCham hopes that promoting the transition to a green economy in Vietnam will attract more investment from European businesses, and he also hopes that Vietnamese businesses will actively participate in this process.

In addition to the issue of transitioning to a green economy, Mr. Dominik also shared a special interest in the European Green Deal, which is expected to be launched with many provisions related to preventing deforestation, managing supply chains, and assessment.

The Chairman of EuroCham hopes that in the future, both sides can collaborate to organize training programs for both European and Vietnamese businesses to ensure the effective implementation of measures in this context.

According to Mr. Dominik, recently, VCCI has organized many training programs for domestic businesses. Therefore, the Chairman of EuroCham believes that it will bring many benefits if both sides can cooperate to invite experts from European Union member states or from the European Commission to support.

With the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two regions, EuroCham also emphasized that to diversify the supply chain from Vietnam to the European Union, it is crucial that businesses in Vietnam adhere to the standards set forth.

Adherence to these regulations will play a crucial role in making significant progress in cooperation between Vietnamese and European businesses, not only at present but also in the future.

Listening to exchanges from EuroCham, Chairman of VCCI Pham Tan Cong stated that this is an opportune time to further enhance coordination between the Vietnamese-European business community.

Chairman Pham Tan Cong also highly appreciated the contributions of EuroCham members in promoting the development and construction of a green economy in Vietnam. According to VCCI leadership, both sides have potential for cooperation in areas such as promoting green growth, energy transition, etc. With strengths in experience and technology, European businesses can fully expand opportunities for potential investment and business cooperation in Vietnam.

Through cooperation between the business communities of both sides, Chairman of VCCI hopes that EuroCham will intensify activities to help Vietnamese businesses grasp and reference experiences in adapting to EU regulations to gain deeper access to the regional market.

To strengthen cooperation in the future, Chairman of VCCI proposed that VCCI and Eurocham continue to closely coordinate in exchanging information on policy recommendations related to improving the investment and business environment in Vietnam, thereby helping European businesses to operate smoothly in Vietnam.

Chairman of VCCI affirmed that VCCI will always accompany and closely coordinate with Eurocham to support EU businesses coming to Vietnam in seeking and expanding investment and business opportunities. With the strengths and dynamism of both economies, the economic cooperation between Vietnam and Europe has a lot of potential for stronger development in the future.
