The ARIT also coordinated with Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade, and the city’s industry promotion center to successfully organize a trade fair on outstanding industrial products of Northern rural areas, and implemented inspection plans for national industry promotion projects in An Giang, Kien Giang, Dak Nong, Tuyen Quang, and Ha Giang provinces.

Talking about the achieved results in the first half of 2024, the ARIT leader said that the agency has always carried out tasks promptly and efficiently; closely coordinated with localities to remove difficulties and obstacles in implementing related works, and review the effectiveness of State management of industry promotion and industrial clusters in localities throughout the country.

However, some localities are restructuring their units doing industry promotion tasks by merging those units under local Departments of Industry and Trade with others under the Provincial People’s Committees, which affected the planning and implementation of national industry promotion projects.

Furthermore, as of the end of June 2024, only about 34.6 percent of this year’s national industry promotion funding was allocated, thus affecting the implementation of industrial promotion projects at localities.

To overcome difficulties and complete the assigned tasks of the year, Trung emphasized that the ARIT will continue to coordinate with relevant units to complete the progress on funding allocation in 2024 as planned. It will also coordinate with Quang Tri and Kien Giang provinces to organize a trade fair on outstanding rural industrial goods in the Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions.

In addition, the agency will mobilize human resources on developing handicraft businesses, new rural programs, management of industrial clusters and other tasks.
