VOV.VN - The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines are to provide over 7.5 million seats across its entire flight network from June 1 to August 8, an increase of 600,000 seats in comparison to the same period last year.

The increase in seats on domestic air routes will largely be from Hanoi, HCM City to Da Nang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc while the airline’s international routes have also seen a sharp rise to destinations such as Thailand, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (RoK).

The airline is set to open a direct air route between the central coastal city of Da Nang to Busan in the RoK on July 20 with two flights per week taking off every Tuesday and Saturday.

Passengers who purchase tickets between now and July 31 will be rewarded with a special discount from US$199 per return flight, excluding taxes and fees. This price is applied to all flights departing from July until the end of the year.

Currently, Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific have put on offer a range of promotions with a 50 per cent discount on air tickets on domestic air routes when passengers purchase tickets every Thursday. Accordingly, a one-way ticket from Hanoi to Can Tho and HCM City to Nha Trang departing during June are being priced at VND777,000, and VND222,000, respectively.

The tickets on the Hanoi-Da Lat and HCM City-Nha Trang air routes are being sold at VND590,000 and VND55,000, respectively, with flights departing from August 15.

Elsewhere, budget airline Vietjet Air has also put on offer 400,000 tickets staring from zero VND, excluding taxes and fees, during the golden hours between 12:00 and 14:00 from June 5 to June 7. The promotion applies to all flights to Bali, Seoul, Kaoshiung, Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur from August 6 to December 31.

Air Asia is also offering discounts of up to 70 per cent on air tickets for all flights to Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, for passengers who buy tickets before June 10 and depart before October 31.
