A Typical Example of Industrial Development Aligned with Environmental Protection 9:57:41 AM | 16/12/2024 In addition to investment attraction and industrial production development, Tien Giang province always emphasizes environmental protection, with a focus on developing green and ecological industrial parks (IPs). Long Jiang Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd, the investor of Long Jiang Industrial Park, is one of the pioneering investors with many contributions to realizing this determination of the province.
Long Jiang Industrial Park stands out with its expansive internal transportation network and abundant green spaces
Effectiveness from the "Four bests" motto
Long Jiang IP was established in November 2007 on an area of 540 ha in Tan Lap 1 commune, Tan Phuoc district, Tien Giang province. It has an extremely favorable location, adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Highway; about 50km from downtown Ho Chi Minh City, Tan Son Nhat Airport, Saigon Port and Hiep Phuoc Port; and about 35km from Long An International Port and Bourbon Port (Long An province).
The transportation system from Long Jiang IP to HCM City is very convenient, enabled by National Highway 1A and the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway. The waterway supports wharves and barges of 500 - 600 tons to transport goods to My Tho Port and Hiep Phuoc Port.
LJIP Deputy General Director Tran Thi Ngoc Dung said: Long Jiang Industrial Park lies in an area that used to be pineapple fields interspersed with swamps, making it difficult to develop agriculture and traffic networks. Immediately after being licensed by the province, the investor invested over US$100 million in construction, turning that in-arable land into a large-scale industrial park with synchronous and modern traffic and technical infrastructure.
Up to now, Long Jiang IP has attracted 55 projects with total investment capital of US$1.86 billion, occupying over 80% of rentable industrial land and creating jobs for about 26,000 workers. In 2024 alone, the park drew six more projects (including two new investment projects and four expanded projects).
Tenants are mainly international corporations from Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and other economies. They have financial capacity and advanced eco-friendly technologies. In particular, they always foster responsibility and humanity to workers like caring for their life, applying social insurance, health insurance, occupational safety and hygiene policies, thus ensuring stable employment and improving workers’ skills.
In 2023, their export value totaled about US$3 billion, accounting for more than 50% of the province's industrial GDP and contributing positively to the province’s overall GDP. In the future, after the end of the preferential period for corporate income tax applied by the province, the budget revenue from tenants in Long Jiang IP will continue to increase.
To enhance its competitiveness and become an attractive destination for investors, LJIP always upholds its "Four best" motto: Best transportation, best preferential tax policy, best human resources and best infrastructure.
In addition, LJIP with a dynamic, professional, experienced staff always supports tenants in the most enthusiastic and effective way. In investment promotion, the company also guides them to comply with Vietnamese laws while disseminating policies and local development orientations, especially on sustainable development, good employment, harmonious labor relations and social responsibility.
During its operation in the locality, LJIP has always promoted environmental and fire requirements and fully complied with mandatory financial and tax obligations. The company is also always a Top 10 biggest taxpayer in the province. The firm also actively takes part in social security like presenting gifts on Tet Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, building charity houses for poor households, granting scholarships to well performing students, renovating and building roads and building bridges for people. The total annual budget for these activities is over VND1 billion.
The power infrastructure of Long Jiang Industrial Park is developed to effectively support the business requirements of investors
Effort for sustainable development
Deputy General Director Dung said, LJIP is designed to become a typical ecological industrial park of Tien Giang province and the southern economic region. That brand is created not only by synchronous and modern infrastructure but also by green sustainable industrial environment.
To do this, LJIP pays special attention to investing in building synchronous technical infrastructure and service infrastructure with the highest criteria, with a focus on developing green landscape systems, water canals and green spaces in the heart of the industrial park to meet the strict needs of FDI firms.
Particularly, the centralized wastewater treatment plant is designed with a total capacity of 20,000 cubic meters a day, with its first and second phases already in operation with a daily capacity of 10,000 cubic meters. The facility meets environmental standards and is regularly monitored, inspected and evaluated by competent authorities.
The power system is also invested synchronously, with a 110/22kV transformer station (total installed capacity of transformers up to 189MVA) and a 22kV medium voltage grid system, which operate stably. The industrial park continues to invest in increasing the capacity of the power station and reinforcing the 22kV line system to meet the needs of upcoming investors.
One of the important factors for Long Jiang Industrial Park to achieve desirable success is the direction and support of local authorities at all levels, aiming for an increasingly improved investment environment. Besides, LJIP closely coordinates with authorities at all levels, Tien Giang Industrial Zones Authority and relevant agencies to make tenants feel secure in their production and business activities.
“In the coming time, Long Jiang Industrial Park will continue to improve infrastructure investment, service quality and utilities for investors so as to remain a key investment destination in the province and actively contributing to local socioeconomic development. This is also the most respectful welcome to investors seeking to study and cooperate with Long Jiang Industrial Park and Tien Giang province,” she emphasized.
