Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Ho Chi Minh City VCCI Tran Ngoc Liem said that, over 60 years of development, VCCI has experienced 7 congresses, in which, there are a number of congresses that are highlights such as the 2nd Congress, in the period 1993 - 1997, the Government decided to separate the VCCI from the Ministry of Trade and clearly define foreign affairs, VCCI is a non-governmental organization. But in terms of domestic affairs, VCCI is an agency of the Party and Government, under the management and direct direction of the Politburo and the Prime Minister. Therefore, VCCI is a unique organization compared to all other associations in the country, as well as with the Chamber of Commerce of countries in the world.

At the 5th Congress, VCCI was honored to receive the Ho Chi Minh Medal, the highest medal of the Party and State. And especially at the 7th Congress, the slogan "Strong Enterprise - Prosperous Country" was changed, linking the activities of VCCI with the mission of the enterprise. On November 30, 2022, the Prime Minister signed a decision to rename the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry and approved the regulations of VCCI.

“VCCI represents the Vietnamese business community, including key groups of businessmen, employers and business associations in Vietnam. The development purpose of VCCI is to protect and support the business community, build progressive, harmonious and stable labor relations, contribute to the country's socio-economic development, and promote cooperative relations, economy, trade, science and technology between Vietnam and foreign countries on the basis of equality and benefit in accordance with the provisions of the law," emphasized VCCI HCM Director Tran Ngoc Liem.

According to Director of VCCI HCM, Tran Ngoc Liem, at the 7th Congress, VCCI has set out 6 key solution tasks, namely: Actively and actively participating in the development of laws and policies, promoting the facilitation of the business environment; Promoting and improving the quality of business development support activities; Strengthening activities to connect and support the development of business associations and its members; Developing a team of entrepreneurs; pioneer in promoting the construction of Vietnamese business; Strengthen connectivity and improve international integration efficiency; Renovate the organization, mode of operation, improve the capacity and operational efficiency of VCCI.

Along with that, VCCI also identified three breakthroughs including: Deeper and more effective participation in the process of formulating laws and policies, improving the business environment; Pioneering in promoting the building of business culture, corporate culture and culture of Vietnamese entrepreneurs become the spiritual foundation, goals and development motivation of enterprises; Promoting and supporting businesses in digital transformation, technology application, and business model innovation.

As for VCCI HCM, Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem said, VCCI HCM is the largest branch in Ho Chi Minh City and 6 neighboring provinces in the southern economic zone. This is the largest and most vibrant economic region in the country. Therefore, the role of connecting members with State management agencies needs to be further strengthened.
