At the workshop “Business culture associated with legal compliance,” held this afternoon (April 3) to support household businesses in declaring taxes for the first quarter of 2026, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in coordination with the Tax Department, Mr. Hoàng Quang Phòng, Vice President of VCCI, noted that Vietnam currently has around 1 million active enterprises, 5 million household businesses, and approximately 3,000 cooperatives. Vietnam is targeting double-digit growth for the 2026–2030 period; therefore, all resources and all economic sectors have a role to play, including the business community, household businesses, and cooperatives.
The VCCI Vice President stressed that compliance with the law, particularly tax obligations, is not only a responsibility but also a core expression of business culture and business ethics. Establishing transparent business practices and fully fulfilling obligations to the State is the foundation for enhancing the credibility of each business entity, contributing to building a fair, healthy, and sustainable business environment.

VCCI is committed to continuing to accompany the business community and household businesses by coordinating with tax authorities and relevant units to implement support activities, raise awareness, and maintain convenient advisory and guidance channels for business operators.
Ms. Nguyễn Thu Trà, Head of the Compliance Management and Taxpayer Support Division, stated that the tax sector is accelerating administrative reform and modernizing management toward transparency, digitalization, and a taxpayer-centered approach.
For the household business sector, according to Ms. Trà, proper tax declaration and payment are not only legal obligations but also the foundation for building credibility and trust with customers and partners. The tax sector consistently follows the principle that “management goes hand in hand with support, and guidance precedes inspection,” thereby creating the most favorable conditions for taxpayers within the legal framework.
Ms. Nguyễn Thu Trà also appreciated VCCI’s approach of linking tax declaration support with the development of business culture. According to her, this approach helps household businesses not only comply correctly but also understand regulations properly.
A representative of the Tax Department emphasized that the responsibility for truthful and complete declaration lies with the household businesses themselves, while encouraging them to proactively apply digital technologies such as e-declaration, e-tax payment, e-invoices, and sales management tools to reduce errors, save time, and enhance transparency.
Ms. Nguyễn Thu Trà affirmed that in the coming time, the Tax Department will continue to coordinate with VCCI and relevant units to strengthen communication, expand support and guidance channels, and help household businesses fulfill their tax obligations more conveniently and effectively.
