At a working session with the delegation of the China–ASEAN Centre led by Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun, VCCI Vice President Hoang Quang Phong highly appreciated the Centre’s bridging role in promoting relations between China and Vietnam in particular, and with ASEAN in general.
According to the VCCI Vice President, in the context of regional economic fluctuations that also open up new opportunities, maintaining practical and effective cooperation mechanisms among organizations and business associations is of great significance for enterprises on both sides.
He noted that many Vietnamese enterprises are currently eager to learn from Chinese enterprises, especially in areas such as technology, innovation, smart manufacturing, and enhancing competitiveness.
China has strong advantages in manufacturing, the digital economy, e-commerce, and technology infrastructure; therefore, the demand for experience-sharing from Vietnamese enterprises is substantial.
To meet this demand, VCCI plans to organize a delegation of business leaders to China in May 2026 to study development models, learn management practices, and access new technologies.
According to statistics from the Vietnam Customs Department, bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and China in 2025 reached a record USD 252 billion, up 26.5% compared to 2024 (USD 205 billion). Of this, Vietnam’s exports to China reached USD 69.36 billion, an increase of about USD 8 billion, with key items including agricultural products (fruits, rubber, cassava, rice), seafood, electronic components, computers, and processed industrial goods.
On the import side, turnover reached USD 182.58 billion, rising sharply by USD 38.56 billion, mainly consisting of machinery, equipment, textile and garment materials, leather and footwear materials, electronics, and production inputs. This reflects the deep level of linkage between the two economies, as well as China’s role as a major supplier of materials and equipment for Vietnam’s production activities.
The VCCI Vice President emphasized that enterprises of the two countries should continue efforts to strengthen cooperation to further deepen bilateral economic relations. Appreciating the activities of many Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Vietnam, he expressed hope that Chinese businesses will continue to pay attention to Vietnam and ASEAN countries, particularly in high-tech sectors, green manufacturing, and sustainable development.
“VCCI will continue to accompany and promote Vietnamese enterprises in strengthening cooperation with Chinese enterprises through investment promotion programs, trade connectivity activities, thematic seminars, and business delegation exchanges,” he stressed.

From the China–ASEAN Centre, Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun stated that China has formulated its 15th Five-Year Plan, focusing on improving growth quality, science and technology, and innovation.
Meanwhile, Vietnam is also implementing new development goals with clear orientations toward industrialization, modernization, and international integration. This provides an important foundation for the business communities of both countries to expand cooperation in the coming time.
According to him, China–ASEAN cooperation has continued to develop and achieved new progress in recent years. As an information hub and “one-stop” mechanism, the China–ASEAN Centre aims to promote friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between China and ASEAN in areas such as trade, investment, education, culture, tourism, and media.
In the new phase of China–ASEAN relations, the Centre will continue to发挥 its role as an important bridge, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two sides. It also supports Chinese enterprises investing in Vietnam, assists ASEAN businesses in exploring the Chinese market, and promotes exports.
