VCCI expects to continue contributing to the development of the Vietnam - Japan relationship
On June 6th, Vice Chairman of VCCI Nguyen Quang Vinh received a delegation of enterprises from Fukuoka City (Japan) for a visit and working session. Leaders from the investment promotion agency of Quang Ninh province and Vietnamese enterprises also attended the event.
Mr. Eguchi Hiroyuki, head of the delegation and concurrently the CEO of Kyushu Electric Power Company, highly praised the economic cooperation between Japan and Vietnam. Particularly, he highlighted the role of VCCI in facilitating numerous successful Japanese investments in Vietnam. He also noted the increasing trend of Vietnamese investment capital flowing into other countries, notably exemplified by FPT's activities in Japan.
Nguyen Quang Vinh shared, "For over 60 years, VCCI has tirelessly contributed to the development of the Vietnamese business community and foreign enterprises in Vietnam. Japan is one of the countries making strong investments in Vietnam, and since the 1990s, we have had specialized departments dedicated to supporting Japanese enterprises, which are crucial for us."

In the coming time, VCCI's leadership hopes that more Vietnamese enterprises will establish investment and business relationships, setting up offices in Japan for development.
"With 200,000 small and large enterprises as members of VCCI, I expect today's exchange to create opportunities for connections, and to explore more business and investment opportunities for both sides."
Among the Fukuoka City enterprises seeking investment opportunities and attracting Vietnamese investments to Japan this time, there are several large companies such as Kyushu Electric Power Corporation, Nishi-Nippon Railway Company, Kyushu Economic Federation, Kyushu Railway Company, Saibu Gas, and Fukuoka Bank, all seeking new business opportunities in Vietnam.
The economic relationship between Vietnam and Japan has made significant strides in recent years. In 2023, the two countries officially elevated their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This upgrade underscores expanded cooperation across various sectors, from economy to politics and people-to-people exchanges.

In the economic sector, Japan continues to be Vietnam's leading economic partner, with total trade turnover reaching $50 billion USD in the past year. Japan is also the third-largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with numerous large projects in sectors such as infrastructure, environment, and energy. Moreover, Japanese enterprises have committed to increasing investment and expanding their business activities in Vietnam across a wide range of fields.
