The “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur” title is a prestigious honor awarded to exemplary Vietnamese entrepreneurs who are recognized and nominated by the Vietnamese business community. The award program is organized and implemented by VCCI.

The 60 Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneurs honored in 2022 represented businesses with a total revenue exceeding VND 1.2 quadrillion, equity capital of more than VND 722 trillion, state budget contributions of nearly VND 148 trillion, and after-tax profits exceeding VND 70 trillion. These enterprises also provided employment for more than 251,000 workers.
Implementing Decision No. 990/QD-TTg dated September 20, 2004, issued by the Prime Minister on Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, VCCI has conducted nine rounds of selection, recognition, and awarding of the “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur – Thanh Giong Cup” title. To date, a total of 860 Vietnamese entrepreneurs have been honored and presented with the title through various selection rounds.
In 2026, VCCI has developed a project to organize the nomination, review, recognition, and awarding process for the “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur – Thanh Giong Cup” title. Under the project, 100 entrepreneurs are expected to be honored with the title. In addition, several entrepreneurs will be selected and recognized under specific themes, including innovation, digital transformation, and international integration.
The announcement and award ceremony is scheduled to take place on the occasion of Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day (October 13), with the expected attendance of representatives from the Party, State, Government, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. The event aims to recognize, commend, and honor business leaders who have achieved outstanding accomplishments during the five-year period of 2021–2025, as well as throughout their overall entrepreneurial journey, particularly in business operations, innovation, social responsibility, and their positive contributions to the country's socio-economic development and the building of a strong Vietnamese business community.
Eligible candidates for consideration must be Vietnamese citizens, or foreign individuals who have participated in the leadership and management of foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) in Vietnam for a period meeting the requirements of the award title, and who currently hold senior leadership positions in enterprises of all economic sectors in Vietnam, including Chairpersons of Boards of Directors, Chairpersons of Members’ Councils, General Directors, Directors, or Business Owners. These enterprises must be legally established and operating in accordance with Vietnamese law (collectively referred to as entrepreneurs), with outstanding achievements in business leadership and management.
The process for reviewing, recognizing, and awarding the “Outstanding Vietnamese Entrepreneur – Thanh Giong Cup” title in 2026 will be carried out through five steps: (1) nomination; (2) receipt and preliminary screening of applications; (3) practical appraisal (if necessary); (4) final evaluation and selection; and (5) approval of the official list of award recipients.
Among these steps, the first step is considered particularly important as it ensures the identification of outstanding entrepreneurs from localities and sectors, thereby selecting the most exemplary individuals nationwide for recognition. The Award Council consists of more than 40 members representing ministries, central agencies, experts, and press organizations.
Organizations authorized to directly nominate candidates include the People's Committees of 34 provinces and centrally governed cities; ministries and sectors with affiliated enterprises; the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance and several central-level business associations (according to a separate list); the Business Forum Magazine; and VCCI branches responsible for regional and local areas.
Local business associations serve as indirect nominating bodies through coordination with provincial and municipal People's Committees. Provincial and municipal People's Committees are requested to direct and assign business associations to coordinate with relevant local agencies in selecting and nominating outstanding entrepreneurs from their respective localities.
Nominating organizations shall independently review and assess entrepreneurs’ applications, select the most outstanding candidates, prepare a ranked list based on evaluation results from highest to lowest, and submit the official nomination letter together with the required dossiers to the Award Council before August 20, 2026.
The Business Forum Magazine is one of the organizations authorized to directly nominate candidates. Entrepreneurs participating in the selection process shall obtain the prescribed application form, complete the required information, and submit their dossiers to the nominating organization at:
