Secretary General of VCCI Tran Thi Lan Anh presents a commemorative gift to Ms. Faiza Shafqat, Commercial Counsellor and Investment, Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam.
During the meeting with Ms. Tran Thi Lan Anh, Secretary General of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Ms. Faiza Shafqat, Commercial Counsellor and Investment, Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam, highlighted significant potential in trade between the two countries, with complementary structures in various sectors.
According to Ms. Shafqat, alongside traditional areas of cooperation, tourism sector collaboration between businesses of both nations could be enhanced in the near future. She expressed her desire for Vietnamese tourism companies to explore the Pakistani market to boost tourism between the two countries.
Additionally, Ms. Shafqat mentioned textiles as another potential area for cooperation, given Pakistan's advantage in textile raw materials and leather. Furthermore, she hoped that Pakistani enterprises could strengthen collaboration with Vietnamese businesses in exporting products such as fruits, fresh vegetables, processed meat, and seafood.
Looking ahead, Ms. Shafqat invited VCCI to organize a delegation of Vietnamese enterprises to participate in two important expos in Pakistan. Specifically, the FoodAg Expo will take place from August 9-11 in Karachi, focusing on agriculture and food products. This event showcases Pakistan's agricultural and dynamic food sector, providing opportunities to enhance international cooperation and explore new business ventures among enterprises, investors, and manufacturers.
The 5th TEXPO Exhibition on textiles will be held from October 22-24 in Karachi. Serving as a reputable sourcing platform in textiles and leather, Ms. Shafqat anticipated that VCCI and Vietnamese enterprises could attend to experience Pakistan's quality products, thereby strengthening business connections in the region.
Ms. Shafqat also emphasized that this exhibition will spotlight innovative products made from recycled materials, organic substances, plant-based origins, and biodegradable materials, aligning with sustainability and circular economy principles. Peripheral activities at the exhibition will also focus on promoting sustainable practices and green textiles.

The Pakistani Commercial Counsellor affirmed that the Embassy and organizations in Pakistan will actively coordinate with VCCI to provide information and support Vietnamese enterprises attending trade fairs to expand business opportunities in the future.
Listening to the insights from the Pakistani Commercial Counsellor and Investment, the Secretary General of VCCI mentioned that in 2023, VCCI organized a business delegation to Pakistan to participate in the first Food & Agriculture Expo in Karachi and the ASEAN – Pakistan Conference in Lahore, receiving positive feedback from the business community.
The Secretary General of VCCI emphasized that VCCI will actively disseminate information about the FoodAg Expo and the 5th TEXPO Exhibition to encourage the participation of the Vietnamese business community.
Furthermore, the Secretary General of VCCI stated that both sides need to continue close coordination in promoting information about trade promotion events in each country, connecting businesses not only in trade but also in sectors such as investment, tourism, etc.
Currently, Pakistan is also one of the main suppliers of animal feed ingredients to Vietnam, such as corn, wheat, etc., as well as some other agricultural products. Therefore, according to Ms. Lan Anh, it is entirely feasible for Vietnamese enterprises to participate in fairs in Pakistan.
In 2023, the bilateral trade turnover reached nearly USD 700 million. Vietnam's exports to Pakistan reached USD 386 million, mainly including tea, pepper, various types of textile fibers, iron and steel, rubber, electronic products, and mobile phones.
Conversely, Pakistan exported about USD 300 million to Vietnam, mainly including animal feed ingredients, pharmaceuticals, cotton, various fabrics, and raw materials for leather and footwear.
